Upsala is more difficult to reach than the more famous Moreno Glacier and you can’t get as close but what you gain is the view of the lake and it’s intense turquoise blue water. You simply can’t believe this colour I’ve never seen anything that...More

Glacier Upsala is really big however you don’t get to come close enough as you do with Perito Moreno. Also, getting to Glacier Upsala takes about 2hours by boat. Too much time in my opinion to spend in a closed area when you are in...More

Although you cannot get very close, the boat trip among the icebergs is beautiful. You are there, just do it. We took the Marpatag boat which is just excellent.

Dont miss out this experience. By boat to two glaciers. Impressie ice chunks and rocks of the size of a big boat are floating everywhere. Blue ice.... Wow. Something you do not See when visiting Perito Moreno (which is great as well!). So.... Do both.

It is beautifull to see so much ice in different shapes and all kinds of white and bleu. It is impossible to write about it, you should see it for yourself

To get to the Upsala Glacier you need to book a tour to the Estancia Christina which is only accessible by boat as far as we know. 2 hours by boat from El Calafate. The boat does spend some time reasonably close to the glacier...More

We booked our trip with our local Travel Agent here in South Africa and were well looked after. I believe the company was caller Buquebus or something like that - same as report above. They were absolutely great.
