Fantastic excursion

Went in a 4x4 experience to both lakes and enjoyed breathtaking views, energizing walks and fun driving in rough roads

This tour is really an extended trip for lunch. In the morning coach stops at restaurant for 30 minutes to take bookings and then spends over 2 hours there at lunch time. Added to a guide who did not speak much English and the husky place closed this was a waste of a day. If wanting to visit lakes would... More

Made the mistake of pre-booking with Argentina4u and paid a huge premium! On hindsight, we could have gone somewhere else. Felt like we wasted an entire day. The "trip" to the lakes consisted of a 2 or 3 stops for photos. We spent considerable time at the lodge where we had lunch.

There's a good view of both lakes from the mirador. We got there by a 4x4 tour with guides from an agency that our hotel recommended.

This fantastic 4x4 vehicle excursion, that takes you where buses and common cars won't go, includes rowing at Lake Escondido, a 4th 'dive' into Lake Fagnano, and ends up with a parrilla prepared by the group of friendly and efficient guides of Nunatak tours.

Breathtaking setting and fascinating history combine to make a visit to Ushuaia a must-do trip. Be sure to visit the museums and take the ferry trips to get perspective.

... if you compare this crossing of this last bit of the Andes with routes a bit further north you might be disappointed.

I took the visit to the lakes Escondido and Fagnano a sunny and cool day in October. The views are wonderful, the walk around lake Fagnano are great and doable even for elder people. Just enjoy the sightseeing! Regarding the question below about Food availability, there are few places to have coffee or lunch but the regular tourist does not... More

Great place to visit when in Ushuaia! You start the walk descending through a beautiful valley, a lot of wind all the time, until you reach the lakes. The Fagnano specially has some "waves" because of the wind, that makes you feel like watching the sea with the Andes surrounding it. Try to make the 4x4 excursion to explore the... More

I couldn't really see the lakes because the day was rainy and had a lot of fog. The tour guys then took us down hill to the lakes, which was nice, but in the Mirador itself, I couldn't see much.
