It was completely quiet when I was there. Nice little trail, some signs / markers. The ruins are easy to identify, even when I'm no specialist. It's on a beautiful high plane; you can see why they built the village there. The signs describe the...More

On the flat and well-mark paths, this is an easy stroll amongst the foundations of dozens of ancient Indian dwellings and buildings, estimated to be 800-1000 yrs old. Tour is self-guided. You can spend an hour or several hours, depending on your interest in Southwest...More

The ruins are sparse and may be hard to find, but its was a worthwhile walk to read the markers and learn about the history of the area. The wind blew, and it was the only sound to be heard, making this a spiritual, meditative...More

Indian ruins nearly 1000 years old. Just rocks on the ground at this point, but the interpretive signs do a good job of illustrating what the dwellings probably looked like. Easy, short walk.

This was an easy drive off the highway (use google maps NOT the iPhone map app). It provided great photo ops on a stormy day, the kids enjoyed walking the trail, and mommy loved reading the history placards posted along the pathways. I was especially...More

This site is Northeast of Payson on a paved road, Houston Mesa Rd. It's 4-5 miles in on that road on the right side, sign is clear. This is not a well developed tourist area, and that may be because of funding to do archaeology...More

Not hard to get to, just north of Payson off 87, with a smallish quarter mile area of old paved trails, and it meanders around an area of prehistoric dwellings which are no longer visible. On the road to Shoofly there was some construction going...More

It's very peaceful there. If you're fortunate enough you may even see elk come through. Nice easy walk for anyone to do.
