Camelback mountain and Phoenix landscape are beautiful in and of themselves. We expected a quiet liase with nature. Although the scenery is stunning, you do have to walk through a residential neighborhood and the trail itself is quite packed. We ended up not being able to hike at our own pace due to blockage by other people who were slower.... More

We started out with 5 adults and 5 kids in tow, with the little ones we only made it to marker 21, it's a tough trail if you take ages 3-5. My 2 adult kids and I got up at 5:30 am two mornings later and made the hike to the top. It gets pretty rocky after marker 21 so... More

My two sisters and I were recommended to this trail by some people at our yoga class when we were visiting from out of state. They made it sound like an easy day hike. It is not. We were prepared with water and good shoes, good thing. Parts of the "trail" are actually just big rocks that you have to... More

We hiked about 2 hours on this trail. It was a good challenge for the first 3/4 of the trail. the last 1/4 of the trail is extremely difficult hiking on rocks where you are scaling. It was a fun day. Would do this regularly if we lived here. Parking was not good. We parked on a city street and... More

The first 2/3 was pretty easy compared to the last 1/3 of scaling rocks. It was definitely worth the view at the top. We went on a day with some rain showers so there was not many people on the trail. That was nice.

Not for the faint of heart, weak of lung, or fear of height. Great hike, beautiful 360 degree views. Steep climb (nearly vertical) in places. Safe (I've seen lots of small kids hiking down), but if you're afraid of heights, you might want to turn around when the going gets steep (the wide saddle about halfway up). Parking is a... More

We struck out on the trail at about 3:00 in the afternoon. Everybody has the same question; how long does it take? We departed at 3:15 pm and got to the helipad at 4:15. The helipad is directly below the last ascent to the top. The climb to the top takes between 10-25 minutes depending on your athleticism. We had... More

best local trail by far. you have to be pretty comfortable with heights if you wanna reach the top top. pretty much most of the trail is fairly simple till you get to the flat circle top where you can see both sides of az, which is also where some ppl decide to turn around (i think its like a... This is not just a hike but a great workout. Make sure to have water and hiking shoes or boots. Takes about 2 - 2.5 hours to go up and come down and can be crowded. Lots of places to rest along the way and take pictures and enjoy the scenery.

This popular trail is steep and challenging but can be a lot of fun. Take water, take it as easy as you need to, take your a-game and enjoy the views. You can go partway to the helipad or start climbing over rocks to go all the way up to the top. Trail is pretty worn and there are some... More
