I visited St. Mary's Basilica during the morning on a weekday. I was absolutely blown away by the architecture beauty of this holy place. Well worth the drive to visit. I LOVE visiting old historic churches. This one did not disappoint.

I love looking at the way different churches are "decorated". It was a shame there were no leaflets available to say anything re the characters depicted in the windows or who some of the statues were. I'm sure it is obvious to a Roman Catholic...More

We were in town for a conference in January. We noticed the Basilica across the street from our hotel. I walked the grounds with our child in a stroller one day. It was beautiful with great statues. The next day we visited the gift shop...More

This basilica rises above the city like an oasis of its own. The palm trees and other flora surrounding the church make you feel like you are nowhere near a city instead of being right in one. It is a stunningly beautiful church on the...More

Visited the basilica, but were not able to attend mass. Nevertheless this is a beautiful church inside and out. Gift shop was closed when we were there. Great place for quiet contemplation.

We attended the noon mass on a Tuesday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The pipe organ accompanied the musician and several parts of the mass were in Latin. The church is beautiful; just lovely windows & statutes. FYI: gift shop is closed Monday & Tuesdays.

I have been in several cathedrals and basilicas and this wasn't as elaborate as some. Many stained glass windows depicting scenes from the Bible. Easy walk from Rosson House if you're in the area.More

I often say the true beauty of St. Mary's Basilica are its people. St. Mary's Food Bank, the first food bank in the world, was founded at St. Mary's Basilica. Today you will find a food bank in every, city, county, state and country feeding...More

Both the grounds and the inside of this Roman Catholic Church were beautiful. Took lots of pictures and really enjoyed the time I spend. Has a gift shop but it wasn’t open when I was there. Open weekend 1-5.

With an endorsement by John Paul the Great, what more could I add? It is downtown and offers confession and masses - and while I got lucky with the parking - plan ahead for prime time street meter parking.
