About Equinox Hot Air Balloon Rides
Equinox Balloons offers romantic and small group private charter hot air balloon adventures in the Phoenix, Arizona area. We fly sportier, more maneuverable balloons, and we limit each flight to no more than 5 or 6 guests. This allows us to have more fun, and it's the perfect way for small groups and couples to share a wonderful experience without being crammed into a balloon basket with 15-20 strangers. If you are considering another operator, make sure to ask them how many other passengers will be sharing the experience with you. We pride ourselves in working harder than anyone else, to ensure you have a once-in-a-lifetime experience you'll always remember. We go further into the desert, and fly over more beautiful scenery. You will never see a cul-de-sac, golf course, or freeway when you fly with us. In fact, we are the only balloon ride operator in the Phoenix area that can make that claim. Equinox Balloons owner and chief pilot is a third generation commercial balloon pilot, and loves sharing his life's passion with his guests. Whether your terrified of heights, or a thrill seeker, he'll make sure you have a wonderful experience. There is also a 100% satisfaction guarantee when you book with Equinox Balloons, so if you don't enjoy the experience, you don't pay.

This is nice for everyone but i don't think for kids if they are wild. It can be romantic at sunset time.

This was a great experience. We chose this because it was not just the up and down in a crowded basket that some companies offer. As an airplane pilot, it was great fun to have the chance to fly in another type of vehicle. The crew was very knowledgeable and professional. It was a beautiful way to see the desert. For those of you nervous about flying, this is a very smooth, slow moving experience. You really get to be part of the whole process= quite educational. Also, it was very classy in the presentation of hors d ourves and champagne- You may even learn a song about burrow owls

After a great deal of research and a recommendation from another ballooning company (that only does their flights in the winter) we went with Equinox and... absolutely no regrets. This was a very romantic, and intimate experience. Jason and his crew were very nice, they let us partake in the setup process, and explained everything that was happening along the way. It's not every day that most people get to float around on a balloon, having had the chance to actually help inflate it, and to be right there while this great big tarp morphed into its gravity defying form, and then be given the opportunity to control the flames (and thus elevation), was fantastically exciting. The spot where Jason flew us, west of Phoenix, had phenomenal views, we went super high and Jason had a nice little anniversary gift/surprise for us up top. We had some reservations initially about just how intimate the experience would be with just the balloon captain in the basket, but Jason was extremely pleasant and we didn't feel like our space was at all intruded upon. We landed and ascended a few times, and flew very low to the ground for a little bit, which was a neat experience all in itself... it's pretty trippy to be skimming so close to the ground (melon and cotton fields) without touching it, and without any engine noises whirring in the apparatus. Afterwords we had the official 1st flight champagne ceremony (highly recommend everyone agrees to do it) and drove to a nice secluded spot at a mountain foothill to have a very intimate lunch/snack. Jason and his crew are genuinely nice, and very interesting people who are passionate about ballooning, provided us with some history, answered all of our questions, and made us feel very safe through the entire process. The experience was a little pricey yes, but totally and absolutely worth every penny. Everything from the location and views, to the crew and food/drink was top notch, and we will definitely do a repeat sometime in the near future. Highly recommend the experience. A&M

A & M, Thanks for taking the time to tell others about your adventure with Equinox Balloons. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed participating in the entire process. Most of our guests like the hands-on experience, that is really only possible when flying a smaller group of passengers. I look forward to flying with you again, and since every balloon flight is different, I know you won't feel like you're repeating anything. Soft landings, Jason, Erin, and the Equinox Balloons team

This was a surprise birthday present from my wife. I do not know how she did it but she had managed to find the best hot air balloon company in Phoenix area. Jason the owner/pilot and his team provided us with an awesome and unforgettable experience. Flight was launched in Tonopah area. He drove around to find the best launch site based on the wind direction and the scenic path he wanted to take us on. These guys are real pros. We were surprised how quickly they were able to set up the balloon and launching it. We were also impressed with Jason paying extra attention to safety and sharing with us all the measures taken to make it a safe flight. We participated in setting up the Balloon which made it extra fun. He flew us over and in and out of Saddle Mountain. The sceneries were absolutely breathtaking. Riding the balloon is one thing, while what you get to see during the flight is something else. What made it fun was that it was just us and no one else in the Balloon. Launch was smooth and landing was precise and smooth. We were amazed by the level of control he had on the flight path and the landing. The ceremony after landing was another surprise and fun experience. Thanks Jason for making this an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend Equinox and their personalized service.

Equinox Balloons are a very professional team. From initial e-mail contact to lift-off everything went perfectly. An early start led to a beautiful morning ascent over the desert and mountains west of Phoenix. There is little to compare to the serenity of a balloon flight. Initial nerves were very quickly settled when you realise how well Jason controls his balloon. We had a fantastic flight and a soft landing, stayed upright which testifies to his skills. Can't recommend this highly enough. You get what you pay for in life. This is worth every dollar.

Alan, Thanks for posting the review of your family's hot air balloon ride during your stay in Arizona. I agree, you do get what you pay for. We work very hard to make sure our guests get the very best experience possible. We know that most people will only go for a balloon ride once, so it's important to do it right.
