Loved the old buildings and the old architecture. We did not have a lot of time to explore this area but leaves a reason for us to go back. I'm a person that loves history and the heart of Prescott is overflowing with history. The homes and buildings tell a story if you slowdown long enough to read the story.

If you visit Prescott, you've got to check out the small downtown. The shops surrounding the old courthouse are pretty cool and appropriate for the area. We saw a few good spots for coffee and ice cream.

My husband and I walked around downtown historic Prescott on February 15, 2017 and read many of the historical markers. These markers provide insight into the history and historical figures that made Prescott what it is today. These markers providing interesting history and information about Prescott.

Probably built in the 30’s this is the center of prescott. In the summer numerous outside activities in the evening and St Xmas time the whole courthouse Plaza is decorated. If you look down a fenced in area at the SE corner you can see an underground river or maybe just a stream. Lots of water in the area. Also... More

We love to see cities/towns where the historic downtown area is alive and thriving. Prescott's is a shining example of that! Lots of business, lots of people, everything is clean and well-kept; this is a city where the local government is actively involved in using their history to enhance the city today (not one who is bulldozing it to make... Not only does the city preserve their older buildings and their western heritage but they also have several museums that are extremely interesting and well presented. The knowledgeable docents at the Phippen and the Sharlot are to be commended.
