Early morning hike allowed us to do the entire trail to the summit without seeing another person. Awesome!!! The trail is a string of switchbacks with many trails to explore at the top. It’s so easy, when descending, we passed a family with a 3 yr old, 4 yr old, and a baby in a belly pack on the mom! The view overlooking Sedona is spectacular and changes as the sun rises. We saw hot air balloons to the west, so we hiked over to the ridge on the west side. Standing there, we could hear not only the hot air balloon burns to rise, but also the people talking. One floated toward us, we waved & said good morning to each other. Then it descended below the mountain summit and rose again on the other side…what an amazing experience to be standing on top of a mountain looking DOWN at the top of a hot air balloon!

This is a great short and fun trail with great and different views of Sedona. It is steep and in parts you may need your hands to grab onto other rocks for balance, so recommend you bring anything you need in a backpack to keep your hands free. I didn't and so was constantly jugging my water bottle at the end.

Others on the trail were doing the same thing and one family got stuck in a few places. Having your hands free would avoid all of this.

But beautiful trail and relatively quick climb, so very doable and enjoyable.

Big parking lot so no parking issues.

Really enjoyed this hike. It’s dry and dusty but that’s to be expected. Well maintained easy to follow trail. It’s basically a bunch of switchbacks to get to the mesa on top. Some areas are narrow and can be thought of as steep. My heights-beware spouse had to turn around pretty quickly and go sit in the car. It’s beautiful at the top with astounding views. No railings and there are definitely drop offs if you wander near the edges. The whole trip took me about 1 ½ hours and included lots of picture taking. There is a Red Rocks parking pass required that is $5. Credit card only.

I went with my husband to see the sunrise and it was one of the most calming experiences we have had together. I found the hike to be moderate as I am not an experienced hiker at all. It is a steep incline the entire path and there are beautiful views throughout the entire climb to the top. There are plenty of safe places to stop for a quick breather, if needed. You are required to have a parking pass which there is a vending machine on site for that. There is also a restroom which I found convenient. I admittedly do not generally enjoy outdoor activities and this was a hike I enjoyed and would do again.

Great view, short hike that is well worth your time. Beware that the trails are not marked well at all. Short but steep keep eye out for where others go up trail. Recommend marking location on phone once on top so yo7 can find way back to trail down.

Doe Mesa Trail is a great moderate hike with a big payoff - spectacular views. We did this one with a private guide from Pink Jeep Tours; Mike guided us well and took plenty of pictures of us on our experience. Got there around 8:30am on a Thursday and parking still available; only met a few other hikers. Enjoyed the "less crowded" feel this hike gave. I would do this one again.

I took a day trip to Sedona. While there I went on a small group tour called the Best Vortex and Chakra Tour of Sedona. This small group tour has a maximum of six travelers. (My group only had two.). We visited two Vortexes. One was a Buddhist site, The other was Rachel's Knoll. The tour involved some walking, sitting, and riding. It included a chakra reading and gemstone. We saw the mountains in the background.

The tour was 2.5 hours. I also had some time for sightseeing and dining before and after the tour. I took pictures of some pretty flowers and the store Gem Magic, which is a short walk from the tour meeting place at a Best Western Hotel. That hotel is just across the parking lot from The Golden Goose American Grill, where I ate vegetarian options for lunch and dinner.

I found Sedona to be a nice, scenic place with temperatures about ten degrees cooler than Scottsdale, where the highs were a little above 100 in mid-September.

Our mountain bike guide recommended this lesser known hike and I'm so glad he did. It took 35 minutes with some climbing and at a decent pace to reach the top. Doe is more of a mesa than a mountain. The top is large and flat so you can get great views without crowds. Highly recommend!

A great hike. Probably rated from easy to medium. One of the best views down into Sedona. Make sure you return on the road back to Sedona, not continue on as road turns into a terribly rough gravel.

My adult daughter and I wanted to get Doe Mountain in on our recent visit to Sedona, but the only time we could fit it in to our schedule was in the early afternoon. We hesitated given the heat but ended up being pleasantly surprised! We started our climb at 1:30 and were the only people on the trail (needless to say, parking was not a problem). There was plenty of shade along the way if we needed to stop. And once we reached the top, there
was also plenty of shade and a nice breeze so we spent time exploring and enjoying the views from different parts of the mesa. This trail is a switchback and there were quite a few step-like formations to climb so may not be the best if you have knee problems. We also noted that a family with smaller children started up the trail and turned back once they hit some of the narrow parts of the trail.
