We spent about an hour chatting with the owners, who just opened the general store. The original general store closed several years ago. Right now the general store features locally made jewelry, tie dyed items and Korenda's home baked goods. Her cinnamon rolls are famous. People stop by from many miles away to get them. No wonder. We tried them and they are delicious. The owners plan to expand the inventory to include typical general store merchandise and foods. Skull Valley is worth going out of your way to visit if you are interested in seeing unusual and scenic places.

Quiet town. Not much there. General Store had a few handmade candles and earrings and some tie dyed tee shirts. The associate there was very friendly. Told us the diner had a fire so there’s no place to eat. Drove down the road to where a farmers market was going on in the schoolyard. Not much there either. Bought some homemade salsa and some jellies. Very good! Once again friendly people. Stopped at the cemetery which was overgrown with weeds. Some very old headstones there.

This location is open - even though some sites report it's closed. Great new owner, and I look forward to seeing what they do to revitalize the area.

We were heading the "long way" to Prescott from Phoenix, (i.e. Phoenix - Wickenburg - Yarnell - Skull Valley - Prescott) and happened upon the General Store in Skull Valley. This place is great! You can stock up on necessities that you may need for your trip if you're passing through, and also don't forget to buy a t-shirt... they have awesome designs, and I wear mine all the time!

We enjoy going through Skull Valley on our way between Phoenix and Prescott. It's a bit further, I guess, but well worth it. This time we had lunch at the Skull Valley Diner, which is just across the street from the Store. It also qualifies as nothing fancy, but we totally enjoyed the food and the people. Highly recommended. The General Store has pretty much everything you didn't know you needed until you saw it there. It's an interesting collection of the ordinary, and the what's that? They even have a couple large, residential-style refrigerators that contain cuts of locally-raised beef and lamb, but you'd obviously need to be prepared to keep it refrigerated. We purchased several craft items, I assume done locally, which were incredibly reasonable in price. At times there's also a small, farmer's market just the other side of the store. Had a great time!
