Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Always love visiting here, walking the walled garden and allotments which local people tend and care for. There is parking and a sensory garden for young children, it’s free and the coffee vendor is there towards the end of week. We were there this week ,Monday morning in half term with very young children but toilets weren’t open which was tricky with children and also some elderly people were looking for toilets
The volunteers always work so hard here and it shows they have wonderful commitment.

Fascinating garden of allotments in historical setting, river walk, children’s garden and bother. Great on a warm afternoon and good young kids entertainment with exercise and exploring.

Very pretty gardens and nice walks by the river as well . If you come on a day when the mobile van is not offering refreshments , there is cute little shed where drinks can be made and a donation left to cover the costs. Plenty of opportunities for volunteering too. Will come back again with our granddaughter and the family. A nice low key afternoon out.

Have made several visits over the years and never fail to be impressed by the care taken by the volunteers for the plants and foliage throughout these gardens. Free to visit and good ample parking for able and disabled drivers alike. Produce on sale. Nice wooded areas for walking down by river. Refreshments currently not available due to co-vid restrictions. Toilets also closed at moment so do bare that in mind as we have never seen any alternative public amenities in the village. If the local pub is open that maybe an option.

We often stay at a resort local to this, we fancied a quieter day so I did a quick search on trip advisor to find somewhere local to here and these gardens came up. It was much bigger than we were expecting and lots of little bits to explore, quite like a National trust garden. Free to enter and a donations box on the wall, the volunteers do a good job!
Just a note of warning, unlike most places the toilets are still closed due to COVID and there are no facilities in the local area, so if any of your party need easy access to toilets to feel comfortable on a day out, this one may be one to avoid for a little while.
Other than that, it’s a lovely place to visit and a nice picnic area by the river. Hope to return when the world is back to normal whenever that may be!
