Alamo Lake State Park is one of the best places to fish for bass in Arizona. The crystal clear lake is surrounded by mountainous terrain speckled with brush, wildflowers and cacti making for a visually pleasing experience. The park has good wildlife viewing opportunities, and you may spot a bald or golden eagle. Nestled in the Bill Williams River Valley away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Alamo Lake State Park offers outdoor fun, premier bass fishing, rest and relaxation. For nature lovers, spring rains bring an abundance of wild flowers and the lake environment attracts a variety of wildlife year round, including waterfowl, foxes, coyotes, mule deer and wild burros. Stargazers are sure to enjoy the amazing views of the night sky, with the nearest city lights some 40 miles away.

Far off the beaten path, this hidden gem contains amazing scenery, a lake for boating, a dam, and lots off washes and roads for ATV explorations. We stayed in one of the newly constructed cabins. Amenities are limited (just bunk beds, no comfortable furniture to...More

A surprisingly long drive off a main highway takes you to this nice hidden gem. A wonderful little lake living behind a small dam creates a happy little recreation area. The campgrounds seem to be divided between camping people and offroad folks. The surrounding desert...More

While my opinion is entirely personal, the reason for my visit included business with the park. I have no incentive to review the park other than my genuine delight at discovering it. At the end of a very long remote road (38 miles of desert)...More

This park is great for desert camping. It has rustic camp sites as well as hook-ups. This place is great for boating and fishing with boat launches as well as fish cleaning stations. I went just before Labor Day weekend, and it was pretty quiet....More

Stayed at the park in February. Not too cold and definitely not too hot. Lake was very full and into the trees. Made for some nice fishing and kayaking. Caught a few large mouth via kayak.

I'm not sure. Your best bet is to ask the Ranger station in the park.
