"What you will see here is a remanant town which stood larger than Yuma in 1878. Her weather beaten buildings remain great day trip in the lower colorado riverin an area little changed from the 1800's. The mills stand silent, housing original boiler, stamp mill, and elevator, as if tomorrow they will awaken to the thunderous roar of steel crushing rock. The boardwalks still creak, the church bell rings out, the five saloons just await the story of their last shootout. Over 50 building in 3 areas are now open, with more history being added. April 15 through September you will need to call for hours. October 15th through April 15th we are open 7 days a week.

I found this museum outstanding, and excellent value for money. Apparently the owners grabbed everything they could from the old mining camp, before all that valuable history was lost - buildings, mining equipment, personal and household items. The buildings are an eclectic mix of old and new, very difficult to tell which is which. The displays are fascinating, with informative... More

Very authentic ghost town run by volunteers. Fascinating to see the original primitive buildings and living conditions. You can see old restaurants, bars, a church, a dentist, a bunk house, even a grave yard. It takes at least an hour from Yuma and you can spend easily 3 hours visiting. Worth it!

This was very interesting and we were so glad we had the time to stop and see all the buildings and exhibits they had to offer. If you are in the Yuma area, this is another must see that the whole family can enjoy.

Spending sometime with my cousins, I asked them to show us Yuma. We went out to the mines, we would not have found it on our own, way out for a city girl. It was well worth the $10/pp to learn of some history in Yuma. It would be really hot to do in the summer, no shade, glad we... More

If you are a history junkie like myself, this is a definite must see!! While visiting in Yuma we found this listing and we were off on an adventure. The long dirt road (just travel at a slower speed) provides you just a little insight as to what traveling was like back in those times. I just can't imagine traveling... More

Enjoyed our visit. Its amazing how many artifacts they have on display without heavy security etc. the weather was great it and it was a pleasant beginning to our jeep ride beyond the town. The folks there were very nice and informative.

We wanted to entertain our grandchildren and take them to a historic venue. This was it! The buildings are restored to their original substance. Take yourself back in time to see how people lived in the olden days! It was a fun trip and took us about 6 hours to tour the whole town.

After we negotiated the 6 miles of rough road to get here we thought that the museum was worth it. The buildings are authentic and the heaps of old things around make it easy to visualise the past One of the best we have seen in the US
