Only need about an hour in this museum to get a flavor of the Viking life. The town of Ribe is very nice and you should plan on spending another hour walking through this small, old village.

This is a reconstruction of a medieval village. There is everything from farm buildings, and market places to a mini harbour. Employees and some volunteers dress in period costumes and demonstrate activities of the times. Some of the actors explain and show what they are...More

This is an excellent place to visit, to get a crash course through Viking history. Staff double as ‘actors’ reenacting Viking life through the ages are knowledgable and friendly. Also a great place for the kids to experience some culture in a fun way.

We had a lovely 4 hours visiting the centre and thoroughly enjoyed the range of people and activities. It was a shame that many of the displays were a little limited on the day we were there - 14 July - but it didn’t really...More

Dear Michael, thanks for your comments. Due to the dry weather situation everything looks more "sad" than normal. But when that is said we are continouisly thinking about what kind of impression we are giving the visitors. In viking age the landscape, towns and farms...More

This is an outstanding place to visit for anyone to learn about how the Vikings lived. The people who give tours and exhibit the different areas actually live on the attraction and work the farm or town in their special area. Children have the option...More

It wasn't cheap to get in but we really enjoyed our time watching the workers and taking part in some of the activities. It really is hand on and there is very little that you can't touch it sit on it even lie down on
