We weren't going to stop here initially as we were pressed for time, but I'm glad that we did. The water in the crater was very blue and made a great spot to take photographs

We drove to the Krafla area and saw the Geothermal plants and the Viti Crater with blue green water. We could see other areas with steam and craters. Very interesting area but the "midges" were there too. Wish we had had more time to explore.

Kids wanted to try to slide down to it and dip their toes, but we vetoed. Pairs well with Krafla fields (5 minutes apart).
