Other than having to pay for parking which was odd in such an isolated place, the visit was nice and worth the trip. Lots of nice hiking places and nice café there.

We stopped at this place yesterday but it was closed until May it said on the door. No access to the restrooms at this moment. The drive around the lake is not really worth doing anyway.

The visitors center has restrooms (WC), maps, tours and snack. Load up before your day in the park or on an excursion.

Good, informative display comprising write-ups/posters, interactive exhibits, and artefacts. The staff were very friendly and proactive, coming up to offer help and explanations. The washrooms were large and clean.

A place to improve your understanding of this part of Iceland. Good interactive displays to add to your knowledge as well as a cafe, toilets and a fine view of the valley. Good any day but exceptionally useful if the weather is poor!
