We really enjoyed our 2 hour ride. We were given really good horses for a beginner and a more experienced rider. At the end of the ride we were given amazing homemade Hjonabandssaela cake (traditional Icelandic recipe). I can highly recommend.

Yes, most of the stables in the South are closed, not sure about any with regular rides, everyday tours. We highly recommend Laxnes Horse Farm for a winter rides, they are closer to Reykjavik.
