Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Super clean little beach with a few massive rocks scattered over the golden sand. Little hardcore car park and a larger grassy area connected to the beach via a boardwalk.
The sand dunes are quite well protected, with signs discouraging people from climbing up them, so that’s a plus point too.

Was recommended to visit this beach and it was a highlight! Easy to get to and worth the little side drive. The beach is gorgeous! Even on a cool, rainy day. Fantastic views. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend!

Stopped here as I was out for a days drive , leaving Killybegs I noticed the sign post and Iam glad we called , parking is in a Carpark of the beach and on a busy day can be hectic , this beach has toilets , bin-bags , and life guards , it is so clean , and all dogs on leads is good .no cars on the beach is a plus , we will be back with the grandchildren as it was child friendly plenty of family’s , it’s got rock pools and the photos don’t do it justice , can’t wait to go back soon about 7k out of Killybegs .

having found this beach last year, we made a detour on our holiday this year to go again , it really is that good. its long clean scenic beach, lovely sand, great rock pools, in the waters edge we gathered (and released) baby live starfish, crabs an little fish. the children were delighted with the whole visit, there was a tap and toilet booths and dogs on leads were welcome and we noticed especially how good owners were about removing any little canine mistakes. go chill out and be happy

I looked up the top ten beaches in Donegal so that we could visit as many as we could in our two weeks stint here and this beach was named. I can see why. However I've realised it is debatable list as there are so many beaches in Donegal. Google maps brought us to a parking lot very near holiday homes, we passed the closed Clock Tower into this estate. Others were parked here but we realised this wasn't the official car park when we got on the beach. It was free. Between the official and non-official carparks there is loads of parking here. It is a blue flag with lifeguards present. However after a full week in Donegal, I've realised that Donegal people are really spoilt for choice when it comes to beaches in their county. Some listed on TripAdvisor. Others not. Some advertised & signposted, most not. Some easy to find, most not. We have been finding that if you follow a tiny narrow windy road anywhere along the Donegal coast you will no doubt find a fabulous and highly likely unspoilt beach (Trá). Follow your nose and enjoy. To be honest, I preferred: the unsignposted Maghera strand, the unlisted Dooey, the iconic Carrickfinn & the unmarked Tramore near Rossbeg. Here's to another week of exploring this fabulous coast🌊& county.

Didn't know Donegal had such magnificent beaches. Fintra beach must rate as one of the best although there are many to be explored and enjoyed. The water was so clean and clear and the beach offered plenty of scope for walking on its soft sand. There is a good car park with plenty of space. Great location !

Beaches like this one in Donegal have it all (when the sun shines). The perfect expanse of open sea and golden sand with a backdrop of sand dunes. And for more adventurous big kids like me interesting caves and rock pools to explore.

I even discovered a new sea creature I hadn’t seen before (sea potatoes!!)

Golden sand in a quiet bay. Perfect for an evening stroll! Sheltered by da dunes. Small car park at one end.
