We visited here and it was undergoing renovation, so we just saw it from the outside, (although we could see in the main doors).

The church is in a lovely setting high above the river that flows through Swords. It is in need of repair and there is a sign on the boundary wall asking for donations to save the Church. It’s a pity the church is not open...More

The tour was given by Andrea .It was an excellent tour giving us information on the history of St .Columbas Church ,the Round Tower and Clock Tower . It is a site dating back to 560 when St .Colmcille founded a monastery there..Thr Round tower...More

This church is situated next to the tower. Magnificent and well-worth a visit. Both are in the center of Swords, a lovely, very walkable town.

This is a beautiful 15th C church but rather dark. But the Bell tower is to die for. A gorgeous 12-13th C tower unlike any you have seen, are at least I have seen. The church grounds are great and it is all free. also...More
