Good fish chowder

We stopped here for lunch and both enjoyed the fish chowder @€8.90 - lovely and creamy with loads of different types of fish, a meal in itself. This was served with a slice of... read more

Had the pleasure of a day at Carton house playing golf. A lovely experience. Played the O'Meara course which was in very good condition. Had a food stop at the 10th tee. A lovely idea. The facilities in the club house are excellent. A lovely meal in the bar afterwards - not expensive for what we had. Can't wait to... More

We stopped here for lunch and both enjoyed the fish chowder @€8.90 - lovely and creamy with loads of different types of fish, a meal in itself. This was served with a slice of brown bread and a long thin roll of soughdough - both good. As the sun was shining we were able to sit outside in the courtyard,... More

Played the O'Meara course as a 4 ball. What a gem! Beautiful scenery, manicured greens & fairways, even the bunkers were pristine (I know because I was in most of them). A great test of golf.

If you had to have a choice between the two courses, the O'Meara would be it. The Montgomery course is a vast expansive course with very little variety between holes - still, a beautiful venue. The 11th hole toilets also had a little cafe shop that was closed, on probably one of the best days of summer; I would love... More

In terms of golf it is wonderful. 2 incredibly maintained courses which are up there with the best in Ireland. I found the service in the clubhouse lounge a bit slow and it is quite pricey. It os very often that Professional Sports teams stay here and I can see why, the facilities are all first-class and it is a... More
