Roscommon is a nice little place, worth a visit. The Castle is on the edge of town and surprise surprise it is a ruin - but it is standing the test of time and hopefully continues to do so. It is set in a very nice and relaxed public park setting, worth a visit just for the pleasant environment it's... More

This site is definitely worth visiting. There is no roof and no guided tours. This is a place you can explore on your own. Very interesting architecture.

Went here to the park and to visit this castle. Its a really nice setting. Perfect for a small family day out on a nice day. The castle is free to go in and explore. There is a pond at the park where it is situated and beaches to sit down and relax. Plenty of neat open space for children... More

While it will not take long to walk through the castle, the park is a great place to walk. It has training station all around the pond which has several family of ducks on the island in the center of the pond. Some people go there every day for a walk. It is only a couple of blocks from the... More

Free roadside castle ruins. Child friendly and wheel chair ramp too. The remaining stairways and chambers are fenced off but there are plenty of places to climb about and explore.

The castle is free to enter and have a look around. It is large with a great inner grass area. Walked the perimeter of the castle and had a peek at the cows in the pasture outside the castle.

Roscommon Castle is located in Loughnanane Park. The castle is in ruins but it is still open for visits & the information board outside has a plan on how it would have looked like in its hay day. The Loughnanane Park has exercise machines and it seems to be quite popular with the local citizens. You can spend at least... More

Loughnanane Park was an amazing park with exercise machines, a pond with ducks, lots of walking and Roscommon Castle! At least the ruins of it! Nothing much to do in the castle as all the big gaps in the walls are sealed with a gate, but there was lots of space to play around in and some big rocks to... More
