We took a shore excursion that took us on a small boat cruise up Lake Lovatn. We then rode the bus up close to the glacier and then walked to the viewing area. The scenery is spectacular!! We passed many waterfalls on the cruise up...More

A smallish glacier which has retreated 2k or so from the view point you get taken to. Rainey and cloudy when we went but when it cleared a bit the glacier glowed blue. Good stop off and on a good day nice hiking

We have visited many glaciers. This one was recommended by the Hotel Alexander to visit, rather than the over run touristy Burstall. It exceeded our expectations with it’s narrow winding road that was always along the fjord, the old Loen townsite & historic memorial, a...More

To us this glacier was nicer than Briksdal and their were only a few people there. The road to get to it is narrow with a small charge but it is worth it.

This glacier is fairly small but is very beautiful. It now just hangs at the top of the valley, glowing blue in the sunshine, It has receded quite a lot in the past 10 years. Seeing the amount of meltwater gushing out I am not...More

We had planned this trip a few days ahead of going, and packed a small lunch . The drive itself was beautiful. The road from Loen up the valley to Kjenndal Glacier is twisty and narrow, but there are several places along the route where...More

a fantastic place, fast flowing river to walk along side on your walk up to the glacier, some lovely small bridges to cross, mind the trolls, path is quite rocky, and narrow though comfortable walking a must

Avoid the crowds and go to this glacier specifically. The ride there is almost as fun as the beauty of the glacier. You can drive up to the glacier and hike a bit more to see some of the creeks and get a bit closer....More
