It was really nice to visit this church at the end of the bridge. It also has an enclosed courtyard and what was fascinating was that the confessionals were built into the stone wall.

Lovingly preserved interior. Admission is free, like most churches in Portugal. Just off the main plaza, handy to our Hotel, Casa da Calcada, just across the Ponte de Sao Goncalo.

Majestic monument at the centre of Amarante, can't miss it. Take your photos from many different angles. The inside is in great needs for restoration works.

Enjoy walking around this small town church! Good viewpoints from the top and interesting architecture. A must see in Amarante! We managed with a stroller but it is not particularly stroller/wheelchair accessible.
