Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hmmm. Nice place but. There were Hell's Angels in abundance at the weekend, Brighton is quiet in comparison. The grocer's shop half way along the main beach has been cockood and is the haunt of druggies. There are an uncomfortable number of large cars with blacked out windows even after the Russians have left. Go to Coníl.

I was at the beach with my friends.. a bit overcrowded, obviously, on Sunday.
But if you walk all the way long next to the rocks, there are less people.you can dive, the water is a little bit colder than on the other side of this beach, you can see fish, crab, the ocean is very clear here.you can climb to the top of the dune as well.amazing view.

This has to be one of the best kept secrets in Andalucia. Don't visit for the day, stay one night so you benefit from the beauty early morning and evening and less people. It can get business during the day but not mad.

Very busy in July for parking. Not sure which attendants are legitimate but paid the €3 none the less to get parked up. Great sea and sand, big waves but clear sea and a cool breeze.

Breathtakingly beautiful. This is a slightly wild beach with sand dunes, great chiringuitos for lunch, and crystal clear water to swim in. Perfect to spend the day with friends and family.

Just a fab place to go.
Youre within a drive of about 1 and a half hours from Malaga.Ive also flown via Jerez and dont recall it being much more so communications are good.
You are within a short drive to Tarifa a small but beautiful town full of Moorish influence and where you can get your groceries, have a meal, a wander or ferry to Morocco.
In fact you are about 20kms from Africa (the straits of Gibraltar) so there are fantastic views of the Atlas Mountains.
They were to/might construct a tunnel from Bolonia to Morocco its that close.
Or you can drive North to Jerez (Horse Festival a must) or Cadiz or many other places.Festivals are however a must.Manzanillo my fave.Very dry fortified wine, (you must not call it Sherry at any cost).
As for Bolonia itself.Ive never been in high season.I tend to go Easter or late September but cant imagine it changes much.
A beautiful beach of miles and miles of white sand.A working village lived in by locals. The normal main bar/hotel (very down to earth) and a couple of shops and restaurants.
I always go to Don Pedro.A small group of self contained flats with a swimming pool ( seldom visit as beach 100 m down the road) and lovely owners.
Oh and it has a National Heritage site.Claudio something or other.A complete Roman town ( or at least the ruins) which is somewhat bizarre.A complete town, houses, streets everything in this little place. You can walk around (free for EEC or is it EU members) and there may be no more than a dozen people there.

I stayed in tarifa for a long weekend and rather than cram in the local tarifa beach we hired a car and drove the coastal road to Bolonia beach.
Great drive, reminded me of Mexico with windmills, all sunflowers, winy roads and cacti.
Bolonia beach is about 30 mins drive from Tarifa, An amazing beach, not many people about either.
the sand is white, the beach is long and the sea is crysta blue. lots of sun lungers for hire and also the umbrella. cost about €5.
ofcourse there's the wind but its not that bad plus it cools you down.
there's also a few beach front restuarants
bliss

The beach at Playa de Bolonia is one of the best European beaches I have ever been to. It is 20 km further on from the town of Tarifa and a 20 minute drive. It is overlooked by Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia on one side and the biggest sand dune this side of the Sahara on the other side. It stretches for some 10km and is a great place to hang out. In the low seasons the beach is deserted, in the summer there are many more people but the beach is so large it still seems deserted. If you go for the day it is well worth visiting the Roman ruins and the small museum, having lunch at the few beach cafes...... and attempt to walk to the top of that dune!!!

This beach is the best one in Cadiz. It is a heavenly beach. Great thing about this beach is that is quite far away from mass tourism and building developments. It is also a place where you can enjoy a view of green (it has a forest at the end of the sand dunes), the yellow/white sand and the blue form the sea. There is also some Roman ruins (Baelo Claudia). You can also see Africa form the seashore. Also, many kite surf and windsurf competitions take place in here.

The beautiful bay and beach here would be worth the visit even without the mountainous sand dune and one of the most extensive and well-preserved Roman coastal cities.
A highly strategic settlement just on the Atlantic side of the entrance to the Mediterranean, Baelo Claudio (now Bolonia) has history, leisure and culture to spare. Apart from its military significance, its siting took advantage of the plentiful sardine and anchovy resources used in the "garu" (fish sauce) factory which provided a bit of flavour to a Roman soldier's otherwise boring staples.
A relatively safe and spotlessly clean beach washed by clear Atlantic waters is a great place for a family day out. There isn't much shade, so take your parasol and break up your day with a (free to EU citizens) visit to the wonderful, new museum and lunch in one of the good chiringuitos (beach restaurants). Climbing the sand dune is great exercise with a fantastic view at the top and an exhilarating run back down - the only place I can run downhill and not worry about my ankles!

Hola,

ITA: Salve a tutti!
Grazie mille in anticipo a chiunque risponderà!
ENG: Hello! I'd like to ask a question to which I cannot find any answer: is it possible to reach Bolonia by bus in the end of September?
I was planning to reach it from Sevilla for a 1-day trip, is there any chance to make it without a car or is mandatory to reach it from Cadiz? Thank you in advance for the answer!

playa Bolonia è molto più vicina da Tarifa o alternativamente da Cadiz, sono sempre arrivato in auto, visti i costi molto contenuti, sicuramente c'è sempre la possibilità di arrivare con il servizio bus di linea
