    Great Museum!
This was a fantastic museum! Dali designed it, filled it, lived there and was buried there. There are many galleries to go through and there is really no rhyme or reason as to how to do that. You just have to wander. It took about 2 1/2 hours to see everything. It was very crowded, so it took more time. There are 2 gift shops with interesting items. Although Dali said the museum was not meant to be gone through guided, if you are able to go there on a tour where a guide takes you through to show you some of the more important works, you might get more out of the visit. We had a guide that walked us through for about an hour and then we had 2 more hours to wander at leisure. We thought that was beneficial.

    Jaw dropping rooms and exhibits
I visited this museum in conjunction with a trip to Girona. Combining a day trip from Barcelona to Girona and Figueras for the Dali Museum is most optimal use of time. You can take a high speed train direct from Barcelona Sants station direct to Figueras. However it will stop at Figueras-Villafante station which is at least a 25 minutes walk from the town. I stop at Girona first in the morning - which was a great stop - then went on to Figueras via the local train which will stop much closer to the city Center. There is nothing to do in Figueras other than to make a beeline straight to the museum. You have to experience the museum for yourself. The courtyard and main hall are jaw dropping. You will spend at least 30 minutes there. Another 20 exhibits and rooms await. Tip: download the Dali app and you will be guided and many of the exhibits will be explained. You need the app because there isn’t any explanations accompanying the exhibits. As you exit don’t forget to visit the Dali Jewels room. Spend at least 15 minutes there. I managed to compete the entire experience within 2 hours. For most people this is enough. Then it’s a 15 mins walk back to the station to catch the train back to Barcelona.

    Main town attraction
This was probably the only reason most people come to Figueres. The museum was extremely crowded even with timed ticket admission. Some of the exhibits were very interesting and some were boring or weird. You'll have that with any art museum as it's all about your particular taste. My 6 year old wasn't very into any of this.

    Absolutely spectacular
The museum is a magical combination of a structure and the artwork of Dali in a lovely combination all designed by the artist. Some of his famous works as well as many less known items and even some jewelry he designed. Multiple rooms that showcase his genius as an artist. We took almost 3 hours to see it all. Well worth the visit.

    Worth the trip
This is one of the best museums I've ever been to. It translates Dali's style into an entire building, with room after room of his works and ideas. They also make sure the place is not too crowded, which is great, because it means you have the time and space to really appreciate it.

    Unique museum
Easy to get to and plenty of parking nearby. Lovely experience and lots to see and keep the interest of the children. Well kept museum and every corner has something of interest. Children under 8 go in free, which is a bonus too. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

    Wonderfully quirky museum-cum-installation
Extraordinary museum and a fitting testament to the unique genius of Dali. The museum is essentially a giant installation with all sorts of visual tricks, quirks and remarkable artworks from Dali and others. The only downsides are a) it gets very crowded and b) it has no parking (there is a private car park a few metres away but it's very expensive - we paid something like 22 euros for four hours). That said, the museum is a must for anyone interested in Dali or art in general, and you can spend two or three hours working your way around its winding layout.

    Great visit but HOT!
Great museum with an incredible collection. I would NOT recommend going late July/early August is it was unbelievably hot. 104f and it was packed with people. You should buy tickets in advance but dont get there too early as you cannot get in until the scheduled time. I do recommend getting something to eat before or after your visit. There are several great establishments within steps of the museum.

    Dali's show
If you are in Barcelona, it's a must for a day trip. Not your standard organized presentation which is what Dali intended. Got a tad disoriented and rewalked areas. All part of the 'unplanned'. Very crowded though. Really, too crowded given it supposedly has timed tickets to limit. Enjoyed St Petersburg much more, but this was fine for a one time visit.

    Enjoyed our visit
The museum was not too crowded during our visit, our tickets were for 9 am. Yes - we saw some rooms twice because the signs were not clear but we didn’t mind - we checked the artwork one more time :-) Certainly recommend visiting Dali’s birth house 5 mins walk from the museum - phenomenal audio visual presentation of his birth circumstances, his formative years, excentricity etc. Combine this two places when in Figueres, it’s a perfect match!!

After visit Barcelona other times and discover Gaudí, Picasso and Miró, I wanted to visit this place. We payed more than 50 euros, beyond the train to Figueres, (expensive for Brazilian currency), maybe I expected something else, but the Theatre-Museum was a dream of the Catalan Master. He created your little surreal world in the city where he was born.

A surprising highlight of my journey around Spain was visiting this museum in Figueres which features the works and passions of Salvador Dali. I had not done any “research” on this museum and did not know what to expect. I am so glad I went in with no expectations. Visiting this museum was a mind blowing experience from the moment I walked up to the complex until I finally walked out of the exit. As I approached the bricked walls and tower there are huge “eggs” lining the top of the walls and the towers. From that point, I realized I had to look at everything in the museum several times in order to get a sense of what Dali might be portraying. This includes the vintage Cadillac which “rains” in the interior; the painting of a nude woman which, upon closer inspection is actually a portrait of Abraham Lincoln; to the room which somehow becomes a portrait of Mae West! It may take a while, but the pieces of art will reveal themselves as far as one’s mind allows. There is so much to see and I enjoyed every moment I spent exploring this fascinating museum.

The museum is a lot of fun if you are a fan of Dali's work. It was very crowded especially with tour groups, which made it somewhat difficult to slowly meander and enjoy the art. We were there in the mid-afternoon, perhaps going earlier or later would have been less busy. Plan for crowds + bring patience to see all the art / get your time to stand and contemplate it.

Bring a few coins with you, (euros and 20 cents), as there are some places you can put in a coin to active a moving piece of art, like the taxi.

My partner and I were glad we did not take the train from Barcelona just to go to the museum, as it wouldn't have felt like quite enough to justify the day trip (maybe if we were bigger Dali fans). We also went to the Castell de Sant Ferran, a 15 minute walk from the museum in Figueres. We suggest you do too! Take the guided tour, it is wonderful. On our way home, we stopped in Girona to walk the city walls and have dinner- also a great experience. Made for a very long day, but made the cost of and time on the trains feel worthwhile.

It's a lovely place to visit at 15euros per person we spent about 2 hours there, we would have spent longer if it had not been full of instergram/Facebook and the like fools that were only interested in telling everyone they were there.
There is a no photo policy that was not adhered to with people climbing on exhibits to be photographed.
Exhibits are great and thought provoking

What a fascinating place and an equally fascinating man. My advice is to hire a guide that has a good working knowledge of Dali's art. You will get a much better appreciation for his work and some interesting insights into him.

This is a must do. It is weird and wonderful. I did not realize he had jewelry made to his designs. There is a separate gallery in the museum for these works which are amazing.

The car is an event! Put in a euro and an umbrella sprouts over car and it rains inside the car. Look closely at the mannequins inside the car - snails on them.

You will also note he had an obsession with dresser drawers and other body parts

A good hour drive from Barcelona, but worth the trip. If possible, make reservations in advance as the line can get long.

I'm not an art person...museums tend to bore me, but this was different. Entertaining at every turn. I would highly recommend getting a tour to come here as the tour discussed the nuances, that i know I certainly would have missed.
Bring coins also, as many of the exhibits have a spot to insert a coin to get an enhanced show. If you like Dali, or even if you don't, this is an unforgettable afternoon.

The collection consists of Dali's works and his personal collection of other artists. It is built on the old municipal theater of Figueres, which was ruined during the Civil War. The building is spectacular, the collection covers Dali's the artistic expressions. It's worth visiting. The trip from Barcelona lasts 55 minutes by train and Figueres is an attractive town.

We first came here almost 20 years ago when our kids were young and it was about time to visit again. In the meantime, we have also visited the Dali museum in St Petersburg, Florida, USA twice. The two museums are very different in style and I highly recommend visiting both. The Figueres one is characterized by a fantastic building and lots of terrific objects inside. However, there is much less IT-based interactivity and they could also do a better job desrcibing the objects, paintings etc.

We visited while on a short city break to Girona, which is only a fifteen minute train journey from Figueres. I had booked tickets online in advance, but there were still slots available on the day at the ticket office. It is a timed entry system, and they won’t let you in early, but it’s well organised. It is always very busy, and no-one was wearing masks, so if you feel vulnerable with Covid still being around, it might not be the place for you, as although the circulation works well, some spaces are pretty cramped.

We spent around two hours inside, including the Dali Jewels exhibition near the exit. The old theatre and stage areas are amazing spaces, and there are three floors with rooms and corridors to explore. Be prepared to queue in the Mae West room.

Although not big Dali fans, we’re glad we visited this quirky and iconic place. I had imagined it to be in a set apart location, but it was actually right in the middle of town. We arrived at Figueres Vilafant station on the high speed train from Girona, and took the bus into the centre. I think it might be closer to the other train station in Figueres, and possibly with a signposted walking route from other things I’ve read.

There isn’t a cafe in the museum, but you can find places to eat in the town.

Visit to the museum fulfilled all my expectationd. Entry on time - without waiting.

Dali's works progress from "simpler" to more complex - from paintings to caricatures and statues. After viewing the works of art, there is a souvenir shop at relatively affordable prices.

In short, to summarize: visiting the museum was an excellent choice to supplement the vacation time.
