My husband and a friend of ours (all from the US) did the Coast to Coast in August. We aren't super experienced hikers, so we decided to take it slow with a 17 day trek and it was a trip of a lifetime! The weather was great with only 2 pretty rainy days of the whole trip. Packhorse was so amazing for handling all of our booking for us. Seriously, the most seamless experience working with them! All of our accommodations were lovely, some of them REALLY nice hotels/BnBs. All of the hosts were all so friendly and accommodating. The most nerve wracking part was getting from Robin Hood's Bay back to Manchester (only because we had to book that on our own) and even that wasn't bad because the bus took us directly to a train that led us right to Manchester where we flew out the following day. If you have any doubts about doing this, don't hesitate! 10/10 would do it again and use Packhorse!

I just wanted to thank you for arranging such an excellent coast 2 coast for the two of us. All your staff have been very friendly and helpful. The B & Bs were very good and the baggage was transported without any issues. It was very useful to have secure parking at Kirkby Stephen in view of train strikes.
The real test of a good company is how they react when unforeseeable things happen; you were excellent. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you to anyone wanting to do the coast 2 coast or any part of it.

Now home after a wonderful two weeks solo walking the C2C.
I was so impressed with the quality of the accommodation booked, the welcome and hospitality received and the efficiency of the bag movement. My bag was at the accommodation when I arrived each day.
The GPX maps were great and used them every day (but a waterproof pouch for the phone is essential as rain and touchscreens do not mix). All the accommodation was easy to find.
All my questions were answered promptly and C2C were very clear to highlight anything differing from my specifications on route, accommodation type, etc.
All these coupled with the weather and scenery made the walk such a wonderful experience. I cannot think of one thing I would offer as an item for improvement.

Thank you Packhorse for the great service you provided. You took the worry and uncertainty out of booking an adventure holiday from overseas. We were well prepared for our walk with your excellent supporting documentation and maps. The Packhorse team were always responsive to queries, from initially helping us to plan our itinerary to reuniting us with lost property on route!
The accommodation was high quality and we appreciated everything running so smoothly. This enabled us to enjoy our Coast-to-Coast journey to the full.

We booked our Coast to Coast adventure with the company and they arranged all our dog friendly accommodation. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and efficient and went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic experience.
The office staff were excellent and dealt with all our queries before we went. Both the drivers who transported us to St Bees and collected us from Robin Hoods Bay were excellent. The luggage transfer system was great, our luggage was there waiting for us every day.
We stayed in some lovely places. The map and the GPX files that were provided ensured that we were able to navigate our way successfully.
I can highly recommend Coast to Coast Packhorse and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again

I walked the trail in 2 bites, in May St Bees to Kirkby Stephen and September KS to Robin Hoods Bay. My Welcome pack never showed up at St Bees but that may have been the fault of the hotel staff. The map supplied (on the second trip) is pretty useless but I had bought the AZ booklet and a guide book. I recommend you do too. The printed town plans in the welcome PDF are a mixed bunch but I had researched the hotel locations on Google maps. The accommodations booked for me and the facilities provided in them, were also a mixed bunch, one superb, several very good and a few average. But in the small towns/villages on the way you have to take what's available. I would happily go back to any of them. My baggage turned up each day pretty much before I arrived. I took the train up the first time but due to strikes drove up to KS for the second. The car park compound in an industrial estate on the outskirts of KS is surrounded by high metal fence with combination padlock. The baggage transfer truck picked me up from RHB to return to KS. He was 2 hours late due to the large number of bags that day. He still had 3 on board to deliver. Poor bloke had 2 hours drive to take me back and another hour to get home.

We did the coast to coast walk earlier this year, C2C packhorse provided excellent support before and during the walk, finding us a range of really nice dog friendly accommodation, and arranging bag and people transfers throughout - highly recommended if you are considering doing all or part of the coast to coast long distance walk.

This is the third time we've used Pack Horse and their standards and customer service are just as excellent as they were on our first trip. The organisation and information couldn't be better. The transporting of bags and us on the final day all went to schedule. We are extremely impressed with them and will use them again on our next trip.

The C2C is such an amazing adventure full of beauty, laughter, exhilarating challenge, and the most fun EVER! C2C Packhorse is one of the main reasons it was so seamless. Hillary took care of every detail and even though it was "self-guided" I knew that Packhorse was a phone call or email away taking care of everything. Felt like my safety net. Not only did she pick the most lovely accommodations, but took care of all our foibles. We left a wallet with all our $$ CC, Passport in one of the pubs and she found it and drove it to us in the next town.

The whole experience of walking across England on the coast to coast was even better than we ever expected. Not rushing with a 2 week walk...and taking three...allowed us to enjoy the scenery, each others company, and that of people we met along the way; fellow walkers and locals
