A poignant statue whose very presence on a cold and wet day told its own story and with the rest of the seafront showed Seaham has not forgotten its past

This amazing sculpture can be found on the sea front in Seaham close to the War Memorial. This is an amazing piece very humbling to stand beneath him.

Truly beautiful sculpture and well worth a visit. Most impressive. Our visitors had not been to the north east of England and seeing Tommy confirmed their view that we live in special and beautiful part of the country.

Such a good sculpture with so much detail, popular with locals and people from afar. Good coffee bars & cafe's across the road.

This statue is larger than I expected and had many red poppies inserted into spaces. Quite moving. Not sure it should be sited directly opposite the existing War Memorial though.
