we visited this museum to see Jones van from Dads army but there is also much more to see.staff are friendly helpful and keen to tell you about the exhibits.We had a good chat with Tim such a lovely person.

Very welcoming volunteers. Free to visit. Large old steam engines, but best of all is the van used by Jones in Dads Army.We had a really interesting chat from a volunteer, so if you are a dads army fan go and ask questions.

We went there as we went to the Dads Army Museum, this has the original Jones the butcher van on show, well worth a visit, very interesting

Do allow a good couple of hours+ to see everythig in this musueam. The volunteers who staff it are very knowledgeable about all exhibits & the local area.

Tardis of a museum,great piece of history preserved.A lot about the area and how the machines were made and the conditions they worked in.Has a small area for children and a cafe upstairs (they will also serve you downstairs and outside just ask) not expensive....More

The museum is housed in the old paint shop and while quite small is full of interesting exhibits tracing the history of Charles Burrell and employees and has a great (reasonably priced) cafe. It is free to visit (donations gratefully accepted) and run by enthusiastic...More

The entrance is on Minstergate. There's some tall white wooden shuttered doors just before the car park. You can't miss it, so sounds like it was closed unfortunately.
