At low water, Wells beach has huge open views and mile upon mile of sands and shallow channels to enjoy. When the tide comes in, the beach is transformed into a harbour, with the entrance channel suddenly busy with visiting yachts, fishing boats setting out for the day or returning with their catch, local small boats going out to fish as well as clouds of small sailing boats racing or cruising within the harbour. The golden sands are backed by colourful beach huts which have been the subject of many a painting and postcard. The popular Beach Cafe nearby is perfect for refreshments during your visit.

Wells is not intrinsically beautiful but is extremely charming, with a different feel depending whether the tide is in or out. It has fabulous beach, which can compete with any in the world. However it is a mile from the town but you can catch...More

Great place for walking and looking at amazing views across a large sandy beach. Car parking is expensive but worth the cost as you can have a great day of fun in the dunes and the beach is very clean, why go abroad when you...More

Known for its beach huts that seem to stretch for ever, the beach, when the tide is out is enormous. The sand is clean and free from "unwanted" debris. If you are lucky, it is possible to see and even take photographs of seals basking...More

Far reaching sands for dog walking, dunes for resting and a picnic, shaded woodland walks, food, drink, amenities and shallow pools for safe swimming. Fun for all the family. Who needs to go abroad when we have this amazing place in the UK.

Always park in Stearman's Yard car park. The spaces behind the, now closed, Captain's Table is run by Parking Eye. Just google them and you'll see why you should avoid parking here. (You've been warned) On a positive note, Wells harbour is great fun, although...More

What a fantastic beach, very busy during half term but plenty of space to find a spot. Really enjoyed the walk to and from the beach as well, such beautiful surroundings. Nice beach cafe nearby. Lovely to see seals across the water.

It's fine for a beach cafe. It's open today. There are also good cafes in Wells town.
Is there a circular walk from/back to Holkham via Wells please?
