As a regular visitor to heritage railways, this was a line I had been hoping to visit for some time - but because of it's location on the North Norfolk coast, you do need to have a car to visit. There is a large, reasonably...More

This established railway runs on a former standard gauge track bed so look out for bridges etc along the line as well as various animals including loads of butterflies and chickens that crossed the line on our outward journey. We didn't bother about visiting Walsingham...More

A nice steam train journey to Walsingham. The journey is half an hour there and half an hour back. It is a pleasant ride taking in the views of Norfolk. We stopped at Walsingham for about an hour. There isn’t much there but we had...More

We visited Walsingham to start with as the brochures in our holiday lodge looked quite inviting but this has to be one of the most overrated places to visit nothing to do or see at all so by accident we stumbled across the light railway...More

Slow and very relaxing train ride through the countryside, can't see much in some places as the embankment is too high, but the jog of the train and the calm atmosphere makes up for it. A little walking to do when you get to Walsingham...More

A lovely little steam train with closed carriages, open carriages and even cattle class! It chugs along under bridges, past stations and a hill fort taking about 30 minutes. Beware of getting 'smoke' from the engine if you sit in the open carriages!

This is a fun day out. The train & railway itself are quaint and the staff and engineer are lovely. Even offering blankets as it was a bit nippy. The views of the countryside are breathtaking. We got onto the train in Wells and got...More

Wisbech to the railway at Wells-Next-The-Sea is 1 hour 23 minutes. Also allow 15 minutes for the Hardwick roundabout at King's Lynn which can be a nightmare in summer.
