Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic walk as a family, we took our 2 kids (aged 3 & 7) a walk up North Berwick law today. It took us just under 40 minutes to reach the top, that was stopping to take pictures on the way up. Fantastic views from all around and very beautiful views from the top. First time walking up the law, we definitely will be doing it again. We saw the ponies as we reached the top too, lovely wee surprise for the kids.

This park is easy to find and is about an hour by car from Edinburgh. It took us half an hour to walk up and slightly longer to walk down. The paths are very steep and stony. On top of this hill, there is the famous whale jaw monument.
The view from the top of brilliant, and in the distance you can even see Arthur seat in the middle of Edinburgh.
But from here it’s really small. You can see all the way over the estuary of the fourth and the normal sea and the islands dotted about the coa.

Dragged the kids and dog up here one morning. It’s a great experience. Steep at times but easily manageable by the children. It is very windy! Blows the cobwebs away for sure. The views are awesome and worth the trek.

We climbed The Law in less than an hour, but we were pretty winded (no pun intended) by the time we got to the (extremely windy) top. This is not a hike for people who have serious knee or hip issues (speaking from experience), but if you don't, it's well worth the effort. Even if you do, you might want to go up at least partway. The views of the countryside and mountains surrounding the area are breathtaking.

Me, my husband and my 5 year old walked up here o!n a sunny day. It is not a long walk. Probably 25-30 mins if you are fit. It took us about an hour going slowly and looking at things on the way. The only thing would be an advantage would be if there was more route markers. There is more than one route to the top; sone less steep than others but it is not always obvious which is which. The views are great .

Short steep walk up hill to get fantastic views over coast to Bass Rock and back towards Edinburgh.
Good paths. Likely you’ll see the Dartmoor ponies who stay on the hill.
Good sized carpark (free) at bottom of hill. Otherwise it’s a 10min walk from centre of town to get to the hill.

My wife, Daughter, Son-in-law & 2 Granddaughters visited the Law on Tuesday.
Although my wife & I didn't climb it, we have climbed several time's years ago ( to old ) now.
The view are magnificent from the to, although it was a bit misty when they climbed.
It is not a difficult climb by any means, they were up & down in just over an hour.
If you ever go to North Berwick it is some thing you must do.

Took about 20 minutes wandering up to get the top, including a few stops for photos and to admire the view. From when we got out the car on arrival to getting back in to leave took just under an hour and we spent quite a time at the top admiring the views.
You could probably do it in half an hour but if you leave an hour it will give you lots of time to enjoy what you can see both from the top and on the way up and down.
There are a couple of benches on the way for those that get a little puffed out.

The walk to the top is well worth doing for the fantastic views of the Firth of Forth as well as inland.

Beautiful routes up well worn paths to the commonly spotted whale bones that are a prominent feature on the landscape.
Easy to walk with small children and dogs and beautiful views over the east coast

Thinking about doing this - how long does it typically take to walk? I am not a seasoned walker, can be quite slow. It took me 50 minutes to get to the top of Arthur Seat! Also, is it easy enough to walk myself?
