- Ladykane1982Chingford, United Kingdom481 contributionsBeautiful clear waterWe visited Daymer Bay for the first time during the May half term,we arrived early & was able to park easily. The toilets are 40p to use. Daymer Bay is beautiful, it was like being abroad, the beautiful clear water and lovely clean beach. The stairs to the beach are little bit steep, but worth the climb.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 May 2023
- Jen Falconer2 contributionsWell worth multiple visits! My fave Bay of all, calm, turquoise waters- shallow for a long way out. Clean and lots of warm rock pools to explore with a sand dune back drop and gorgeous church ruin. Heard a lot about terrible car park management/fees but it was calm, organised with high-vis helpers on arrival, no issues.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 August 2023
- Amy L W16 contributionslovely little bayGOOD - Lovely little bay on the coast. Was recommend by a friend and we went to it. The waters were lovely and blue. Lots of rock pools but sadly nothing in them. found a lovely large yellow crystal formation (were quite a few) in the sand and brought it home. many people doing watersports. BAD - The toilets were chargable and announced loudly you hadnt shut the door and an alarm was going to sound (i am disabled and was trying to balance my sticks to get in as the disabled had big out of action sign on it!) The car park had giant holes in it and could easily damage a car wheel if not careful, it was also pricey.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 October 2023
- Clare HOxfordshire, United Kingdom3 contributionsDaymer Bay - avoid the toilets!!!We are regular visitors to lovely Daymer Bay, the beach is perfect for families and never disappoints. We walked from Polzeath on 27/10 so didn't have an issue with car parking costs but the toilets were an absolute disgrace. They clearly hadn't been cleaned for days but we were still charged 40p!!! The stench made you gag and the toilet pans were full to the brim of used toliet paper - disgusting and possibly a health and safety issue. Find a bush if you can!!!!! Also a real shame the shop and cafe were not open for half term.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 28 October 2023

Daymer bay has anpr cameras monitoring the parking run by alliance parking. If you overstay, you will get a letter demanding £60 rising to £170 and then court action.
Ignore it , don't pay it. You won't hear anything else from them.

Was supposed to be meeting friends at the beach, drove into the carpark, drove around but as their car wasn't there I did not stop the car - ie "park", I exited immediately and met them at their house. In all I was in the carpark for less than 2 minutes - can't drive too fast due to the poor condition of the car park and the pot holes. A week later I received a "parking fine" from some crooks by the name of Alliance Parking. Apparently they use cctv with automatic number plate recognition to pull off this scam... there appears to be more than a few people that have been caught out by these thieves.
Nothing against the area or the beach, just the thieves from Alliance Parking.

We have just been stung by an overstay car park fine of £60. Car park works on time of entry and exit recorded by video. Time on ticket is irrelevant. So for an overstay of 6 minutes we have been stung £60.
Also note that there is nowhere to leave rubbish whether it's yours or somebody else's you pick up.
A poor experience given the beauty of this bay.

Expensive car park, its terrain is better suited for off-road vehicles, access down to the carpark is tight, there's no immediate facilities for disposing of dog waste despite being a 'dog friendly' beach, toilets are charged, there's nicer beaches close by, terrible experience, won't be going back!

CAR PARK - Don’t be a victim!!!
Don’t be a victim of the car park sharp practice. I, like hundreds of others, fell victim to the ‘discreet’ use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras that supersede the time on the parking ticket that you must also purchase and display.
Alliance Parking who operate this car park, are aware of the number of negative posts on Tripadvisor but care not.
If you have received a parking fine, I recommend submitting a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act. This will at least tie up your fine in admin costs, and prevent it from going straight into their profits.
Advice on how to raise a Subject Access Request is easily available on the internet.

Enticed into the car park to have a look at the beach, noticed the tide was in and no space, decided between us and another family to move to another beach and on returning home discover the Alliance Parking fine!
There's obviously no appeal process with this company from the previous reviews, so now £60 worse off and left with a very bitter taste of Daymer Scam central. And 50p for a filthy toilet is just nuts!

Love this glorious beach so much, but the car park is run by scum of the earth.
Their main business does not seem to be parking but fining as many people as possible on technicalities.
What they are doing is not illegal…(just) but 100% unethical. There’s a government review going on at the moment over cowboy parking companies so hopefully their predatory practices will be illegal soon.

Hi, We did the SW coastal path walk to Rock from Daymer last month, which was only a short jaunt. I wonder if you can recall how long it took you to walk to Polzeath please?
Many thanks,
Yes, it's approximately 3.5 miles, so, just under one and a quarter hours... (ish') ...depending on your agility of course. 👞👞
