Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This will be our 5th or 6th visit to Retallack resort. Whoever is in charge needs to bring back a slide. Each year it’s got smaller and smaller. Some new bits this year compared to last year but it’s seriously lacking a slide. The amount of obstacles are minimal. It would also be great to have a small jumping platform which is manned by a lifeguard. Quiet session with 23 people. 40 people would be far too many as nowhere to spread out.
Family changing / disability facilities were awful. You go in disabled toilets and you can’t wash your hands - taps don’t work. The room is filthy. The light doesn’t work. The cupboard for storage is open with chemicals sticking out.
No lockers for your stuff so you have to leave in a room where public go in / out.
Cafe is basic and really needs a cake stand / hot pasties / sausage rolls available all the time the aqua park is open.
We had fun and made the most of it but it’s a real shame it seems to have got worst over the year not better. Really needs a decent manager to go in and make this a better place.

Booked a four night stay here. Check in was awful. You’re meant to be able to check in from 4pm but at that time we were told that the cabin wasn’t ready. Over half an hour of waiting and queuing. Lots of other people having to do the same. Not what you want with a you family after a long drive. Not at all happy and would never stay here again. Also if you do book here then book the swimming far in advanced as we also couldn’t swim as it was all booked up.

A treat for a good report - and what a treat it was. Cleanliness, safety and real kindness, they made our boy feel magical and his smile lit up the sky. He was beaming, and we can’t wait to book again. Massive thank you to Mia and the team. We loved it. 👏👏👏 🤩😎

A lovely setting nestled away. Our 2 kids were booked into the Aqua Park for 1 hour which they thoroughly enjoyed. Booking was straight forward and staff were friendly! However, the only downside were the toilets at the facility, they were disgusting! We had a midday booking and although there were staff milling about on site, they were not busy and not one person had the initiative to check the toilets - sand throughout, unclean toilets, trash littered toilet floors and to dry your hands there was a roll of toilet paper on the side! Not pleasant! No rosta up to check on toilets either! It let the visit down.

The kids (12,14,16yrs) enjoyed it, but the photos are misleading. Many of the larger blowup climbing frames/ slides are no longer there. They were really looking forward to climbing and sliding off them. For what it is, it’s expensive compared to other aqua parks and we probably wouldn’t do it again.

Wakeboarding was amazing . Great coaching by Jake and Owen. We had the best time and my son Beau learnt so much in 20 mins. How to stand, corner and jump off a jump. The coaches were the best. Back next year for more.

This was a return visit to the inflatables, requested by our children 16 & 12 who remembered it from 6 yrs ago. It was much bigger then, I'd say it's halved in size since then. Nevertheless, they & husband had a great time , but at £60 for 3 0f them for an hour, it isn't cheap.

I was very wary as this was the first time I'd been to one of these with my three kids.
I let them go in with mum and I wanted to take photos so stayed on the side.
There was a safety briefing before which I also attended, it was impossible to hear what was being said as they played rap music loudly at the same time on the outdoor sound system.
Afterwards they all went in as they did, about 8 stragglers turned up who hadn't had a briefing at all. The guy just waved them in also without a safety briefing and said just don't do anything daft.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
I stayed and watched the whole way through whilst my children (one just 7 yrs) were barged out of the way by what appeared to be blokes on stag parties.
The stewards unable to control them at all.
I fear it's only a matter of time before two heads bang together and fall into the water unconscious and unobserved.
The kids fortunately mostly enjoyed the experience apart from the odd bout of tears after being kicked in the face whilst trying to climb out of the water.
Just to add to the flavour of the day, the loud rap music they played ( which must have annoyed the nearby houses ) was obviously from an adult playlist and contained so many expletives even I was blushing.
Won't be returning anytime soon.

Dear thenorthisace,
I am very sorry to hear that you were so disappointed with your visit last summer to the Aqua Park; especially as a spectator and I imagine it was an occasion you were greatly looking forward to.
I can assure you however that we are not complacent in this regard and I am happy to report that we have taken all the feedback from last year on-board and have therefore reviewed our recruitment process and have examined how we can move forward with training and new staff for this year. Also, this year only the managers will have access to the music.
Thank you for taking the time share your experience, we are working swiftly to use your comments to good effect.
Warmest wishes,
Guest Relations Managers

As an adult I've been to the aqua park in the past with friends and had great fun. I decided to return with some friends and I have to say I am very disappointed. We arrived at 4pm to join a group of approximately 40-50 children ages 6-10 at a birthday party. The aqua park was massively crammed and it was an health and safety issue. Several kids were hurt where there was not enough room on the obstacles and collisions began to happen between kids and adults. To avoid this my friends and I spent most of the time in the water. Obstacles across had been torn and had proven to be a health and safety risk to everyone involved. To summarise. Overbooked and small issues with course.

Will all floats on the aqua course be out and available at the end of may and also, if it rains will it still carry on or will it be cancelled?

my son is not a great swimmer , do you need to be a confident swimmer ?
Written 31 August 2017
No not at all. Lifesavers are worn and plenty of staff on hand to help.
Written 1 October 2017
Yes absolutely! The Aqua Park is great for kids aged 6 and above and every obstacle is suitable for the little ones.

Hello..I planning to come with a group of friends some of which they might don't want to join in the game. Is there anything else for them to do while they are waiting. Either watching us or staying in a normal pool or a cafe.
Also how long it last ?
Written 5 April 2017
Yes there is plenty of space for spectators around the lake with picnic benches to sit in and a cafe area.
Alternatively they can also try paddleboarding or zorbing on the same lake!
The Aqua Park session last an hour.

Is there a viewing area. £60 for a family of four is not to be sneezed at so I'd like to take a look at the attraction full before I decide to allow my children to use it
Written 14 August 2016
Yes there's viewing around the lake and a beach area at the top with tables, deckchairs and a cafe area.
