Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A delightful small museum about all aspects of the cultural and social history of the small fishing port of Padstow and the surrounding area, from Padstow's unique May Day celebrations to shipwrecks on Doom Bar.

Great little museum located close to the harbour. There is of course the history of the town but there is also a video which was shown to us by the lady who worked in the museum and explained the unusual May festival that takes over the whole time. We learnt a lot from the museum. You can leave a donation when you leave. Dog friendly. Thank you to the lady for sharing her knowledge with us.

It’s across from the National Lobster Hatchery. It’s tiny museum but there’s lots of information about Padstow. I was particularly interested in their May 1st celebration. There’s a video, I watched all the way through.

THIS compact museum was packed with interesting displays, predominantly delving into Padstow's history.
We spent an hour or so there while on holiday in Cornwall further up the coast.
Every square inch of space was used to best advantage so visitors might stand looking at a photograph of World War II bomb damage yet be inches away from another display about an old soda fountain.
The sea, ships and those who sailed them was a strong theme but we also saw everything from adverts and newspaper cuttings to model ships and other memorabilia.
Entry is free but we left a donation. Well worth a visit.

A lovely museum telling the story of Padstow's history. Lots of interesting artefacts and volunteer Derek was knowledgeable, keeping the kids enthralled with tales of the past. A great way to pass an hour. Free entry, but definitely worth a hearty donation!

Visited Padstow last week and tried several times to visit the museum. Checked the website/facebook first each time and it said it was open.

However it was shut every time we visited (last week in june - high season) with no message or notice on the door indicating when or if it will be open. Went into Tourist Info saturday morning (when the museum should have been open according to their website) and asked - they had no idea why it was closed and when or if it would open.

I know it is run by volunteers so i feel a bit bad giving one star but it would be really useful to keep the website/facebook/tourist info updated on when/if it will open.

If nobody is available to open the museum - just stick a message on the website or the museum front door and let TI know. When you're trying to plan things to do with limited holiday time it really helps.

This houses lots of original local artefacts and items. All of them clearly labelled and informative. I really liked the display on Padstow May Day celebrations. Worth a visit, especially as it was free.

A really well laid out museum with exhibits clearly displayed and lots of good information provided. It's not huge but the museum gives a great description of the history of Padstow and its people.

This is a very small but fascinating place to visit. You learn all about what fishermen are doing to aid conservation and see lobsters at all stages of their life cycle. With a visit.
