I visited Buckland Abbey with my family this Summer after waking up at our holiday lodge to face the bleak Dartmoor drizzle. It's a stone's throw from Yelverton and well signposted (you're asked not to use SatNav on the brochure - I can only guess...More

Have visited the Abbey several times & enjoyed. Today I had the meanest NT sandwich, plastic white bread & cheese not a hint of garnish! Also the art of exhibition totally spoils the historic atmosphere of this beautiful building. We had a wonderful walk around...More

Nice place to look around and see the contrast of old and new with the art work that is around the place

I went to Buckland Abbey deliberately to see the modern artwork, I personally found it an utter joy. I didn't feel the art detracted from the other artefacts at all. The staff/volunteers were all really helpful and I enjoyed seeing the house too.

As NT members and in the area we decided to visit Buckland Abbey on our return journey home. The staff/volunteers at reception were enthusiastic and helpful by advising a route to follow during our visit. They did warn us that several parts of the estate...More

An incredible amount of history here, if you don't know about Sir Francis Drake this will open your eyes as to his roll in protecting the British empire, if not for his actions and leadership it would be the Spanish empire, there are also some...More

I'm really sorry Karin, I've only just read your question, I am not aware of tours from Plymouth or Exeter, my suggestion would be to contact a Devon Tourist office.
