Rock on

Very good but a lot of people destroying the rocks and pulling stuff out of cliffs. Better just to look and see what you can find. #beachcombing

Really enjoyed the fossil walk we took with Chris and Paddy. They were fun and very informative, knowledgeable and friendly. The older lady in the Museum was not very friendly however, and seemed very flustered and short with me for asking where the bathrooms were located.

Very informative. Well worth doing before you set off on your own so that ypu know what you're looking for. Check the weather before you go as there is no shade or shelter on the beach. Sensible shoes are a must too.

Jim took my husband and I and two 8 year girls fossil hunting from Lyme over to Monmouth Beach. Jim was very informative, interesting and enthusiastic. We loved walking out over the ammonite graveyard and by the end of the tour felt much more able to find our own fossils. We brought back lots and the girls were thrilled. Really... More

It must be of the highlight of our staying in Dorset last August. It is an amazing stretch of beach with incredible view. Worth to take a walk and enjoy the beauty.

We had a lovely fossil hunting experience with Brandon today. None of us had ever done it before but we all had a wonderful time. We were a family group with mixed ages. He was very patient with the children and we all came away with bags full of fossils - even the 3 year olds! Also really helpful with... More

As this was our first visit to the Jurassic Coast this was one trip I really wanted to do and it didn't disappoint. Paddy and Chris were so keen to impart their knowledge and obviously enjoy speaking to amateurs. They manage to keep us all rapt and even managed to keep the children listening and interested to the end considering... More

Definitely worth doing if you are in the area. Paddy and Chris have a wealth of knowledge and are only willing to share it. Very informative and without listening to all the information from Chris we would have not been able to find any fossils. Chris is is very funny and great at telling stories. You certainly won't be dissapointed... More

We visited back in May for the first time. Parking was plentiful and cheap. We were hungry so on arrival went straight to the cafe. Food was served in reasonable time, was hot and quality was what you'd expect from a beach cafe. On to find fossils. No idea how we were meant to find them but there was plenty... More

This was one of our must-do experiences while we are in the UK and we were not disappointed. Chris was very funny and jumping out of his skin to share his paleontology passion with us. Chris, I will forever think of you when the topic of Pentaradial Symmetry crops up next. Paddy was also very knowledgeable and easy to listen... More
