Beautiful lunch and lovely to have a little walk around the mill whilst catching up with relatives. Situated in a quiet area at the back end of lyme regis, small river nearby

We wanted a good lunch and the cafe is pleasant and the food excellent but the coffee (very much a matter of personal taste) rather indifferent. The pottery nearby was interesting, with some attractive and reasonably priced items. The jewellery shop had earrings cast from...More

We popped in here on a not so warm day in November and entering the shop area were encouraged to take the mill tour. It’s a free tour but you’re encouraged to leave a donation which if I remember rightly goes towards the upkeep of...More

I spent years growing up in Lyme and watching a stagnant wheel letting water pass by... I only knew the half of it. 10years of restoration, with so much effort you can’t even begin to imagine... all after I was grown. A fantastic working mill...More

Such an interesting place. Run by fantastic volunteers. So knowledgeable. The demonstration was great and the opportunity to buy a bag of flour made at the mill makes it very special.

We really enjoyed the guided tour of this mill. John the volunteer Miller had a real in-depth knowledge of the history and the workings of the mill and made it so interesting. Would definitely recommend as it’s well worth it.

A lovely place to visit to purchase properly locally made items. I bought a lovely jug from the working potter. A stunning silver necklace from the local, delightful young jewellery maker who also stocked a friends forged iron - I’d been looking for a hand...More

They do not have wheelchairs. However, the ground floor is easily accessible and has a chair so that you can view the working mill and the flow of milled flour. The further two floors are accessible by stairs only; although... More

The Town Mill is open 11am - 4pm every day. The only proviso is that it's run by volunteers, so there may be the occasional shift that is not covered.
