It was very busy when we visited but that was to be expected during half term! It's easy to find although the car park is at the top of a very steep hill so if you have difficulties walking it may be best to look for an alternative parking area. I thought the entry fee of £5 for adults and... More

I found this place very charming. It's no National History Museum but it has a charm hard to describe. Reasonably priced and friendly staff. Lots and lots of fossils. Adult enthusiasts could spend hours I'm sure. We were done in just over an hour. Our 4yo quoted it as the best part of the holiday and very much enjoyed spending... More

Full of locally collected fossils and very good explanations of what to look for and how fossils are made. We've been several times now.

Visited the Fossil Museum without knowing anything about it. Glad we did. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They may have been volunteers. Some of the exhibits were quite stunning. Spent about half an hour there and learnt a lot about fossils and fossil hunting.

We visited this wonderful museum with an adult family member in June 2016 and returned in October with our daughter, son in law and their children aged almost 8 and almost 7. Every one was impressed with the layout, the variety of the exhibits and the general atmosphere. The children enjoyed the quiz and were absolutely overjoyed with their prizes,... More

We popped in on a whim, but this was such a good find. Really enjoyed our time, I learned lots and loved the variety of exhibits and the humour in the descriptions and notes. Definitely highly recommended.

Dinosaurland in Lyme Regis is a traditional museum of natural history, and particularly of fossils. It is a private museum and clearly a labour of love by charming Palaeontologist Steve Davies who greeted us warmly at the entrance. His personal collection is shown in this beautiful historic building of the famous seaside town in prime fossil country, ranging from local... More

We visited with 2 young kids during our summer holiday. The building itself isn't massive, but I believe because it's well organised and laid out, it punches well above it's weight. There is an absolutely enormous selection of fossils and interesting things to see there. The staff are friendly, and they have a quiz to really keep the kids engaged... More

Lots to look at, bit dusty but very interesting. My 10 years old, fossil and dinosaur obsessed son was in his element.

For only £5 this place is s gem! It'll take between 45 mins to an hour and a half to go around, depending on how much you read. I'd recommend coming here before you go fossil hunting as it gives you advice and ideas for where to look and what you'll find. The shop is excellent too and very reasonable.... More
