Chose this pub as dog friendly and central to Lyme Regis and the beach. We just had drinks and a sandwich (crab panini) - which was very good. However the internal decor just feels like a cafe - not a pub. One thing I did like was the story of the pub - or should I say pub dog -... More

Having been here several times the quality remains good. Whilst self service can be slow, you order at the bar so if busy..... wines are good and having only tried the specialities I believe they are well known for their fish and chips, and it certainly did look good. Now introducing music and entertainment a great place to go for... More

Just returned from this great place. We booked earlier in the day and were quickly seated at our chosen table. Pre dinner drinks were quickly served as we looked at the menu and the specials board. The four of us all chose different starters and they were excellent. As the food was freshly cooked there was a reasonable pause between... More

I and my family ate in here in Nov 2016 . I was very disappointed in the dish I ordered which was a vegetarian squash curry , the dish itself was very nice but the portion was so small served in a huge bowl which gave the impression it was large , NOT SO . Why is it that many... More

I eat here regularly as I live nearby. The welcome is always warm and friendly. The food is first rate and very good value. I rate this as one of the top places in Dorset to eat

This was my first visit to the Pilot Boat Inn and it was no disappointment. Excellent range of Palmer's real ales. A fine establishment - should be even better after the refurbishment. The food menu looked superb - lots of fine foods from local producers. (Crediton, Bridport, Lyme, etc.). Plus, a superb view of the sea and promenade from the... More

The Pilot Boat never fails to impress. With friendly, efficient staff, great pub food, (you just have to try the fish and chips), a good selection of beers, plenty of tables without being overcrowded, and the perfect location near the beach, you really shouldn't miss this family friendly pub.
