Lovely castle ruins, with a magnificent view of the countryside from the top (well worth the many steps to get there). It is a fascinating place to visit, with several display signs to show the castle as it was, castle life, etc. The booklet you...More

Really interesting castle to visit. Could spend at least 2hrs walking round. Quite a lot of climbing required to get the benefit of the views from the tower.

Small but perfectly formed - don't go expecting a huge visitor centre and loads of information boards etc. Well kept and delightfully natural and not tampered with, and a great connection with history not only of the local area but all of England. Very reasonably...More
