About
Alnmouth Golf Club overlooks the splendours of both Foxton and Alnmouth Bay on the Northumberland coastline in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. It is widely regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the North East of England. Although the course has a coastal location it has parkland turf and a reputation for the fine quality of the greens and superb presentation. Recently chosen as one of the TOP 100 HIDDEN GEM golf courses in the UK by Golf Monthly magazine. We are a private members club with active Mens and Ladies sections, friendly clubhouse atmosphere and very strong junior section. Visitors are always given a warm Northumbrian welcome at Alnmouth where we have buggies for hire and first class practice facilities. A special feature of "Foxton", as we are generally known, is a 26-bed Dormy House within the clubhouse offering hotel accommodation, English Tourism 3 Star rating, to groups of visiting golfers in very comfortable twin or single rooms with en suite facilities. We offer a full range of stay and play golfbreaks for groups and couples. SKY SPORTS TV AVAILABLE IN THE CLUBHOUSE. For a mid November round of golf we found the course, clubhouse and general welcome from the professional and catering staff to be really good. 4 out 5 due to 3 hole’s being closed due to very wet conditions. Definitely a course I would like to play here again when conditions are better but the views and experience was still great.

An all round good experience from start to finish. All the staff were very accommodating from check in to check out. Food quality was excellent with a good selection each night. Accommodation is a little dated but clean and warm

We have a rolling programme of updating rooms which we started a couple of years ago so hopefully, if you visit again you will stay in one of the newly renovated rooms which have been greatly received.

Played in the seniors open today. We received a warm welcome and great hospitality. The course layout and condition was fantastic. This is a course you must play. We are visiting the area and we hope we get the opportunity to play again. Some stunning holes and scenery.

Excellent golf course in first class condition with great views. Stayed overnight in the Dormie House, excellent accommodation with ensuite, great food, good choice of wines & malt whisky. Staff helpful & pleasant, particularly accommodating to my 99 year old Father- couldn’t fault one thing - would definitely recommend and would hope to come back.

I hadn't played here for more that 40 years, but hadn't forgotten how beautiful the course is.
Everyone I spoke to was lovely and polite.

Delightful food and friendly people. We were staying quite close and walked the coastal path which runs along the edge of the course. Stopped off to ask if they were open to non members and they were. We had a couple of evenings there, beer and wine very nice and the fish platter was absolutely delicious. Really good service as well. The bar and waiting staff were great. (And although we are not golfers, all the people who were playing were very friendly too!) Sitting outside at the tables looking into the greens was so quiet and relaxing. We took our two border terriers with us as well. Well behaved dogs welcome in outside area’s.

Any golfers wanting a fantastic experience need to go here, everything from start to finish was first class, we played Seahouses first which was spot on, travelled to Foxton hall, the rooms were very nice and comfortable, we all went for the evening meal and all I can say is 18 very hungry men were not disappointed as it was top notch, the service by all of the friendly staff was second to none, breakfast was excellent and the Foxton golf course was unbelievable, a huge big thank you to everyone at Foxton and we will definitely be back

Popped into Alnmouth to visit the Village Cafe only to discover it closed for annual holiday. Hungry and disappointed I ventured into the golf clubhouse. What a revelation. A modest menu of sandwiches, baked potatoes and burger but very modestly priced. Service was quick, comfortable lounge with lovely views over course. Outside seating available. Excellent burger. Well worth a visit

On holiday with 3 collies, what a warm welcome from club members and staff. Lovely areas to sit outside in sunny surroundings or shade if needed, the gardens are so pretty and well maintained.
Choice of drinks good the food we had was excellent and very reasonable prices. The dogs also had treats given to them. Became our local whilst staying in one of local villages.
