Brilliant view to the north of Oxfordshire from the Downs and the long distance footpath the Ridgeway. A good car park owned by the National Trust is a pay one about 800 metres from the summit to the hill. The white horse needs to be...More

The family went yesterday. It was absolutely stunning. Beautiful landscape. Only bad side is it's hard to see the whole house unless you have a drone.

I definitely recommend taking the walk out to see the White Horse at Uffington. We parked at the official National Trust car park and were given very helpful directions by the NT lady on site of where to walk. It's about 1/2 mile across gently...More

I came here in May but as I arrived it started bucketing with rain so there was no point in venturing out onto the hill. I was back in the area in early July and saw this on a lovely clear sunny day. There was...More

Best views around the plan and loads of walking. Postcode showed in National Trust was a close location and not the exact parking, so if you follow the post code in National Trust, make sure you follow the road signs.

I'd seen pictures, and driven past some of the other chalk sculptures in the region, but I'd always wanted to see the Uffington White Horse, up close, in person. The first thing is to notice that it's on the interior of a partially bowl-shaped hillside....More

With difficulty. I saw a bus stop in a nearby village, which appears to be the Saturday-only X47 from Wantage. I'd personally recommend renting/bringing a bicycle and heading over from Swindon or Didcot, as the area is well... More

Basically there's a hill to walk around and look at. You can use it as a starting point for various long walks in the area, covering a lot of archaeological sites. The car park might have an ice cream van in it. The X47... More
