A really nice little museum dedicated to the brave men and women of the Artic convoys. Well worth a visit and an hour of your time to educate yourselves. Cost I think was 4£ each, so not expensive and has toilets too. Bonus.

Moving memories of those who sailed from Loch Ewe to Murmansk in Arctic conditions & under frequent attack - veterans had to wait 70 years for their heroism to be recognised - hearing their stories is an eye opener

This is a good small but effective museum, run by a dedicated and keen team. It was very interesting and used a lot of personal information to make interesting history.

This whole place is a moving tribute to those who served, and many who died, on the arctic convoys to Russia during WWII. There are detailed story boards, videos and informative displays from both historical and personal points of view. You need to look out...More

As others have said, it can be easy to miss. It's just north of Aultea on the main road (A832). But it's worth finding it - both for the material they've gathered to record and commemorate the Arctic Convoys, but also for the insight it...More

While staying at the Gairloch, we did a bit of touring around, as the roads were awesome, if not the weather. On the list was this little treasure, which I managed to fly past. Turned around & parked up. The place its self is small...More
