Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A really pleasant trip going around the little islands in gairloch on 'alice' the "orange!" boat. The skipper steve was very knowledgeable of the local area, the history and legends and there wasnt a period in time where we werent engaged with the experience.
It was nice to see that kids on our trip also got to experience driving the boat, and animals got on the trip for free. Although missy our lab got a little scared when faced with a very snappy crab.
Im not entirely sure how one can get that monster out of the pot for our enjoyment without getting a injury. Im not sure one gets to try other than the skipper but i know i wouldnt want to.
We saw quite a few animals on our trip, from seals to oystercatchers, and even a glimpse of a blue lobster. Im glad it was put back it would of been a shame to eat such a rare beauty, and it reinforces my belief in sustainability. If i could suggest anything - Maybe if there was a long line or a second pot that we could observe to get up and close with more of the sea creatures in gairloch.
The experience was as adventure it was very informative and it felt a well rounded experience for us and our pet pooch. I will be back next year.

We couldn’t see anything through the glass as it was too dirty. We would not have booked the trip if we’d known this. It was only an ordinary boat trip and an expensive one at that.

Our family had the joy of experiencing the glass bottomed boat with our fantastic guide. Witnessing a juvenile golden eagle was the cherry on top!
Would highly recommend this experience for anyone and everyone.

Very disappointing! After boarding we were told that the glass bottom is dirty so can‘t see through it - apparently it gets dirty after a few days and they only clean it biweekly. Would not have booked it had we known this, as there are better glass bottom options in Kyle. The guy was nice enough though, hence we give two points. So, not much to see but a colony of common seals, shags, and two huge jellyfish, and nothing at all through the cloaked underwater windows. False advertising, a total waste of money, do not recommend AT ALL!

Thanks Steve and Alice we had a fantastic trip out! Although there wasn’t as much to see below as we hoped there was plenty on land and Steve’s commentary made a very enjoyable trip for all! The kids loved driving the boat to shore.

If you are looking for an exhilarating fast boat ride then this is not for you! The trip was a slow relaxed joyful meander around the Gairloch with Steve our jovial host and 6 other guests.
The weather hadn’t been great and Steve immediately said we would not be able to see the seabed as it was too murky but we would see lots of other things.
It was interesting, educational, fun and humorous.
Steve was very knowledgeable and generously shared lots of it along with amusing anecdotes and by lines.
Lots of local wildlife on view and a rare sighting of a Golden Eagle! The seals, Oyster Catchers and elder ducks and chicks were most memorable for us. We also did manage to see some parts of the seabed so did see starfish and some jellyfish below.
The trip was finished off with Steve raising a Creel from the seabed to show us the contents (2 different varieties and sizes of crabs) before depositing them back in the loch alive and well.

Excellent boat trip. Steve was so informative and knowledgeable. My 6 year old niece was nervous at first but Steve really put her at ease and by the end of the trip was steering the boat.

Hi, Sheila here, we are staying in Gairloch for a week in June and I was wondering after seeing your site on Google if you take any disabled people on board in a party of 4 there are 3 of us who are disabled in one way or another and what your prices are for the trip?
Many thanks

Hi Sheila, Thank you for your enquiry regarding disabled access to our boat. Although Sealife cannot take wheelchairs,(she's just not big enough!) we have always endeavoured to make Sealife as accessible as possible for our passengers with mobility problems. Our best advice is to give our Booking Office a ring when you arrive in Gairloch to arrange to come down to the Harbour to look at the boat and chat to us about each individuals mobility & how best we can help them board Sealife safely. Generally we always ask you to arrive earlier to ensure you can board without pressure to rush, we can pull the boat towards the pontoon making her more level & easier to board, there are grab handles to aid stability & just a couple of small steps to your seating position...plus we always have help at hand. Wheelchairs are always kept at the Booking Office & delivered back to the boat as you arrive back in from your cruise. Over the years we have gained a vast amount of experience in ensuring that we can help everyone with a variety of needs to enjoy the Sealife experience. Our prices per person are £18.50 for Adults and £12.50 for 17 & under. Hope this information helps plan your holiday. We look forward to seeing you and your friends on the Harbour.
All the best
Jill
