Great valleys (or hollows and batches in local), small villages and a choice of long/serious or short/friendly walks make this a great place to visit. Try the Townbrook Valley, Ashes Hollow, Church Stretton circuit to get a feel and start (will take 2 or 3...More

The views from The Long Mynd stretch for miles. It is an area of natural beauty and one can see why. However, getting up there is hair-raising. A single, winding track with a drop of hundreds of feet on one side without a barrier make...More

This is a National Trust site which is good for walking with great views across the countryside. Some of the trails are slightly rugged but not too challenging. There is a waterfall and a reservoir in the hills where hardy locals swim every day! There...More

You can explore The Long Mynd either by walking or by car (with short stops/walks with views). I would recommend driving up via the Glider Club and then down into Church Stretton. There are several places you can stop and admire the view or take...More

Had a great walk around the the Circuit of great hills surrounding Church Stretton. The. Views are spectacular towards Caer Carridoc, Lawley and the Wrekin. Wonderful day and great pubs in area.

Wonderful, steep, single track road! Some quiet car parks once you reach he top, and the views are outstanding. Lots of footpaths to follow. Much quieter than Carding Mill Valley below.. Well worth visiting - but not if the clouds are down over the summits!

The drive up and down is not for the faint hearted it's a single track road with a few passing places but once it plateaus the vista is fabulous.

I have only been to the Long Mynd on this occasion, so don't know of any other ways to the top. I didn't find it too scary, there are lots of passing places and a few parking places. Well worth the trip if you can brave it... More
