We spent a day with Ben walking to Loch Toll an Lochain at the foot of An Teallach. It was a wonderful opportunity to get up close to this iconic mountain.. A glorious day of sunshine and typical Highland scenery - you never just see one mountain, you are surrounded by them! Ben could not have been more helpful , and obviously enjoys sharing his knowledge of, and passion for, the mountains. I would highly recommend him as a guide.

Quinag is a fantastic walk/climb with up to 3 peaks to reach. Fantastic views and a real sense of achievement made so easy by having a great guide such as Ben taking away the uncertainty of where to go whilst also providing great knowledge, friendly chat and good safety advice for when we go walking on our own.

Fabulous day out learning navigation and mountain safety skills, even in the snow! Ben is knowledgeable and a great coach, but what really comes through is his passion for the local area and joy in sharing it with others. Would strongly recommend for anyone who wants to explore Scotland's mountains safely.

My trip was arranged short notice with Rosie taking care of everything from my itinerary to accommodation. Covid restrictions prevented me staying at their B&B but Rosie secured me a studio at the top of “The Braes” with a view to die for! I spent a couple of days with Ben teaching me navigation skills, taking me well out of my comfort zone, instilling confidence in me to now go off route and places I’d never have gone myself before well off the beaten track! His knowledge, skill and expertise is second to none and was an excellent teacher with lots of patience due to me asking repeated questions. At no time did I feel uncomfortable or silly asking him over and over! This was my first time travelling away myself, Ben and Rosie were so welcoming and friendly even inviting me to join them for supper in their garden (socially distance bbq). They both have a vast amount of mastery and experience of the great outdoors and anything they don’t know isn’t worth knowing. I’d highly recommend Mckenzie Mountaineering, you will certainly not be disappointed and I’ll definitely be returning!

we wanted to get away from all the chaos that is our lives at the moment at the same time explore Ullapool. An area of the country we had not been to before. We started looking for someone to lead us walking in areas we could not normally access ourselves . One that popped up was McKenzie's. A couple with an abundance of knowledge on trails and the surrounding area. The walks Ben took us on were, for us, challenging and breathtaking. The level of strenuousness and scenery were well worth the cost and time. I can only say that if, given the opportunity, you would be crazy to not take advantage of there services. Well done and thank you to Ben & Rosie
