We really enjoyed the history tour of Ullapool. Our guide was passionnate, very knowledgeable, and had so many exciting stories to share. She was very dedicated to answering questions in a precise and friendly way ! We highly recommend ! SciencesPo Alumni Association

Alex is a fantastic tour guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I recommend. Make sure you bring along comfortable Waterproof boots.

What a wonderful introduction to the history of Ullapool and the chance to explore some fantastic walking trails in this beautiful area. Alex had so many interesting stories to tell; it was clear that she had done extensive research to prepare for her tours. We enjoyed her sense of humor. We highly recommend this experience!

We took the Ullapool walking tour with Alex that lasted just about an hour. It was well paced, and we never felt hurried. Alex had a "terabyte" of historical information on why and how the village came into existence, and its challenges on continuing to move forward. The tour was quite good, filled with anecdotes, and I'd recommend Alex.

I did a 3 1/2 hr walking tour with Alex around the village, along the river and up Ullapool hill. It was a wonderful trek, not too difficult going up the hill and the most amazing views of Ullapool and Loch Broom. Alex was so engaging and knowledgeable with stories and pictures/maps to illustrate them. I enjoyed it very much...so much that I'm going to book another walk to a different area, if I can during my stay!

In late May 2023, five 60-something friends bimbled into Ullapool for an overnight stay between Skye and Scourie, as part of an 8-day trip around Northern Scotland. We knew little about our destination, so a few weeks before, we had contacted Ullapool Tours to arrange a 2-hour guided walking tour in the early evening. Alex replied really swiftly and we arranged a time. We later asked if she could recommend places we might visit on the journey between Portree and Ullapool, and her suggestions were spot-on. The evening of the tour was quite wet, but Alex was very flexible and could fit us in the next morning instead - this worked really well. Her guided tour delivered just what we wanted: sufficient exercise combined with a description of the geology and wildlife, plus an interesting and thoughtful insight into the history and culture of the town. Well done and thank you, Alex!

We went on two walks with Alex she was so informative first we went on a forest walk, she knew about the trees and plants and how and when they were planted, and how people came to live and there and about how people were told to leave their homes, and she told us a little about geology and faults in the mountains , and then the next day we went to the lighthouse which was interesting as well.

Our tour with Alex was wonderful. She explained the geology of the area with reference to what we could see around us and drew the kids (13 and 10) in with intriguing stories about the more recent human past. She loves her subject and this area and it was such a delight to have her share her knowledge and enthusiasm with us.
