About Shearwater Cruises
The Summer Queen operates out of Ullapool Harbour during the summer. We sail through Lochbroom, Annat Bay and the Summer Islands, taking in the Scoraig and Coigach peninsulas and some of the most beautiful scenery and wildlife in the world! We offer 4 hour morning cruises to the Summer Isles, landing on Tanera Mor (the last inhabited island in the group and home to the last independent Post Office in the UK!).In the afternoon we have a 2 hour cruise in Lochbroom and Annat Bay, that takes in either Isle Martin, or the inner Summer Isles, depending on weather and wildlife conditions/sightings.We encounter all types of wildlife from sea birds and Eagles to porpoise, dolphin and even whales. Sightings change from day to day but the views and scenery are always spectacular. We have a bar/saloon aboard offering snacks and drinks, toilets, and we have experienced crew who will share their knowledge and love of the area and wildlife encountered. Please note we do not sail if the weather turns poor, and do not currently sail on Sundays. Please contact us to discuss bookings - groups and family bookings welcome.

Best experience I’ve had on a boat trip! 11 of us went on the 2hour boat ride and it was filled with fun. Staff are very kind & have great knowledge of the area.

We had a great time on the boat trip. The views are amazing with or without wildlife! But we were lucky enough to see some seals and their pups, sea eagles and some shy dolphins in the distance. They also took us to a cave and gave us some history which was very cool! Thanks for a great trip!

The booking part is a bit tricky because they don't have a proper form in the website from where is possible to choose a day and book, but you need to call them or eventually send an email. I sent an email and I have to say that they answered me really fast. They explained that the boat trip is due to weather condition, I don't have to pay in advance but only once I'm there and cash only. Once I was there the lady was really friendly and helpful. The boat trip is really cool! I spotted some wildlife but not as much as I had wanted but well that's WILDlife so I can't really moan! and the view..oh man the view...wow I had a weird situation like be inside a lord of the ring movie..so astonish and incredible that I couldn't believe it. The trip was quite long and permit us to see lot of islands and also to stop inside a cave. The engine is really loud tbh and not only covered the commentary of the crew(nothing special,I had the impression that they were pretty bored and for sure they didn't transmit any feelings) but also probably annoyed the wildlife...I hope I'm wrong.. Well..definitely a must if you are in Ullapool

Saw amazing views and wildlife but the boat is so noisy you cannot hear the commentary unless the boat has stopped briefly. The crew were a grumpy pair and sounded very bored and uninterested in their job. Maybe a thank you or goodbye at the end of the trip would have been nice. The lady in the kiosk was very nice and helpful, maybe she should swap roles.
