The Summer Queen operates out of Ullapool Harbour during the summer. We sail through Lochbroom, Annat Bay and the Summer Islands, taking in the Scoraig and Coigach peninsulas and some of the most beautiful scenery and wildlife in the world! We offer 4 hour morning cruises to the Summer Isles, landing on Tanera Mor (the last inhabited island in the group and home to the last independent Post Office in the UK!).In the afternoon we have a 2 hour cruise in Lochbroom and Annat Bay, that takes in either Isle Martin, or the inner Summer Isles, depending on weather and wildlife conditions/sightings.We encounter all types of wildlife from sea birds and Eagles to porpoise, dolphin and even whales. Sightings change from day to day but the views and scenery are always spectacular. We have a bar/saloon aboard offering snacks and drinks, toilets, and we have experienced crew who will share their knowledge and love of the area and wildlife encountered. Please note we do not sail if the weather turns poor, and do not currently sail on Sundays. Please contact us to discuss bookings - groups and family bookings welcome.

We went out on the sheerwater, chose the longer cruise. saw seals on the way out and dolphins one of which came right up to the boat. we landed on one island to visit the post office and have coffee. altogether a great trip, the boat was very good, fast and with good all round visability. A good morning for a boat trip fine and sunny and not too windy. Was not disappointed lovely views of the Summer isles and surrounding scenery. Was lucky to see an otter very briefly! also White tailed eagle very far up on the hill, and a lovely group of common seals.Commentary was very informative about what could be seen around... More

A fantastic trip on a beautiful sunny day in Scotland, with a calm sea and the sea breeze blowing in our hair! The whole family was entranced by the trip through and past the beautiful summer islands just off the coast of Ullapool ! We saw seals from a distance but the Dolphins came right up to the boat and... More

Thanks Alan, have had some great sightings this last few weeks. Dolphin days are always great - even better as they are wild and chose to come to see us. Thanks for feedback. More

We took this 3 hour cruise expecting that the main focus would be on mammalian and marine life around the Summer Isles. We did see some Skuas and a seal colony basking on rocks, but for the most part this was a boat ride out to the Summer Isles and back, with an (optional) yomp to the top of the... More

Lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins up close for a good 20 minutes which was by far the highlight. The boat is very nice, feels safe and is clean. Interesting bits of commentary from the captain/crew member. We went on the 3 hour morning cruise landing on Tera Mor.

We had a fabulous 3 hour trip out to Tanera Mor island. As well as the skipper there was commentary from a Scottish wildlife expert. Using their knowledge (and big binoculars) they located a pod of playful bottle nosed Dolphins that entertained us, seals and their pups sunbathing in the sun, porpoises (blink and they're gone) and various birds! Geology... More

Despite the terrible weather Shearwater fitted us onto their trip after another boat company had cancelled because they thought we wouldn't see anything in the rain. The lady in the kiosk was so helpful and managed to fit all four of us on at the last minute. Incredibly the crew were able to spot a pair of Sea Eagles high... More

A great cruise, unfortunately the weather was not in our favor. The crew was very polite and informative, and if you choose to take the cruise, please say hello to Digger, the boat dog

Travelled across to Ullapool from Gairloch for a day trip and some sight seeing on Tuesday 12 July 2016. Four adults no dogs / pets. Arrived at the harbour and saw the Shearwater trips advertised on the side of their bookings hut.
