Nearly 50 years ago I met this much older gent who had fallen on difficult times. My workmates and I shared our sandwiches with him and he talked to us in a strange language (Gaelic) which he interspersed with poor English. It transpired he claimed to have been one of those who had been evacuated from the island in 1930.... More

We visited St Kilda on 1st May and it was one of the best days of my life. Three decades ago on a wet day in Scotland, I bought Tom Steel's book and visiting St Kilda was always a dream. This was our second attempt to get there. The first time we were thwarted by a storm on the Outer... More

Efficient, professional and friendly-both the booking and the trip. A smart modern boat with comfortable upright airline style seats and a good viewing area at the back. We saw Rossi Dolphins on our way there. The highlight of the trip, as many have said, was around Boreray and the stacs. Here is Europe's most important seabird colony and the highest... More

A trip to St Kilda has been an ambition of mine for 20+ years and the island and trip out on the Sea Harris boat did not disappoint. Booking process, notification about sea conditions the day before and the trip itself were all very efficient. A professional organisation with a great new boat made the 2.5 hour journey a wonderful... More

When visiting Harris, I was determined to go on a day trip to St Kilda. I'd done my research in advance and knew that the weather didn't always permit the crossing and that there were only a couple of operators from Harris, one of which was Sea Harris. We thought we'd left plenty of time to book our trip (just... More

Spotting the outline for the first time - there it actually was after all - unique, raw, primeval and forbidding, and the dull quiet weather on the day heightened the aura the place gives off. Heavy rain disincentivised us from making the trek up to the ridge and beyond, and thus we found that having seen the church, school, museum,... More

Last August my 91 year old grandpa and myself went on a day trip to St Kilda with Sea Harris and it was excellent. The crew on the boat couldn't have been more helpful, which made the trip a lot easier for my grandpa, who is partially sighted. The island itself was very enjoyable and luckily the weather was great.... More

I booked our trip knowing that the weather in the Hebrides in September may well see it cancelled, but despite high winds beforehand, we got to go on the first day of our window. Seumas kept us updated the day before, and confirmed in the evening that we were on. As it turned out, ours was the only trip that... More

Seumas was very good to deal with. He made every effort to accommodate us on this trip which is very chancy due to weather but he allocated us spaces on a different day to the ones we'd booked. On the day, his boat pilot and guide, Donald 'twin' from Scalpay, were very friendly and informative. I'd totally recommend this trip... More

We did a day trip to the St Kilda archipelago with Sea Harris and it was outstanding. Communication was excellent beforehand, despite my seemingly endless questions! Booking in for a 2-day window our trip was actually brought forward by a day due to weather forecasts, but travelling to this part of the world weather will always impact on plans and... More
