I really should have done this review 6 months ago , it took us 6 attempts and 3 years to get out to st kilda , each time we rebooked seamus was amazing, each rebook he did a discount of some sort , the third year we booked , he booked us onto the Monday and Wednesday trips therefore with your reserve days giving us 4 chances to get out to st kilda , we got out there on Tuesday 17th September, the crossing was rough and I had full blown sea sickness the skipper and his mate where amazing they really looked after me , after having spent the day on st kilda which is a must do if you get the chance , everyone gathered on the back of the boat for a trip round the stacs, I stayed inside , Darren the skipper was amazing , got a 1 to 1 commentary on what we where seeing and what to look for , would really recommend these guys , they look after you if you are unfortunate enough to be ill , are very informative as to what’s what , just professional in every way can’t say enough about them , .... thank you so much for getting s there and for looking after me when I was sea sick

Definitely a must do trip. Prepare for a bit of sea sickness but you'll be in good hands with this company. If you're lucky you'll have the lovely Ian Angus aboard who looked after me in the depths of my sea sickness! We'll worth it, St Kilda is unique. Sea birds and history aplenty.

We booked this trip for 12 people while on a pipe band tour of Scotland from Tasmania, it was so easy to communicate with them and when we arrived besides the all day rain, we had a ball. The guys were so professional, so enthusiastic and so knowledgeable of every part of the trip, the sea life, the bird life and especially the life of the people who lived on St Kilda. They looked after us all so well, it rained for the entire 4 hours on the island, we were soaked to the skin, even with coats and layers ( for the middle of summer) we were treated to hot coffee and beautiful cake as well. I would not go with anyone else, these guys at Sea Harris are the best and we will all return on our next trip to Scotland.

We had been waiting almost a year for our trip of a life time and so when the day arrived we assembled on the pier at Leverburgh at 7:30am for our 2 1/2 hour trip to St.Kilda. The boat was very compact but comfortable, expertly skippered by Darren and ably supported by Iain (who got me some amazing go pro footage of the dolphins) In the days leading up to the cruise, we were keeping an eye on the weather as this can seriously impact the trip, but fortunately our sail day was quite benign. On the way we were treated to amazing displays from bottle nosed dolphins surfing on the bow wave of the boat and seabirds at close range. The mist was rolling in and then as if on cue, it cleared to reveal the eerily beautiful Island of St.kilda with steep cliffs rising straight out of the ocean (highest cliffs in the UK). We spent about 4 hours on Hirta and walked up the steep hill to the clifftop and about 1000ft drop to the ocean, no warnings, no fences and no handrails and care must be taken not to get to close to the cliff edge. We then boarded the boat for an unforgettable tour of the stacks of St.kilda with 10s of thousands of gannets and wild sheep grazing on very steep cliffs. It was about 8pm when we got back to Leverburgh, to reflect on an unforgettable experience. Couldn't recommend Sea Harris more highly!

My son and I went on an adventure to St Kilda, somewhere we’d spoken about visiting for a few years. It is not an easy place to get to but well worth the journey from Aberdeen/Edinburgh, 2 long ferry crossings and 4 nights B&B! We were extremely fortunate to be given the go ahead on the 2nd day of our 2 day window. The crossing is entirely dependent on the weather conditions. The crew were very welcoming and reassuring and the Enchanted Isle is state of the art and designed for the sea conditions. The owner, Seamus, was unavailable that day but informed us of that and told us about his colleagues. Although it was a beautiful calm morning in Harris, with the houses perfectly reflected in the Lochans, once our in the open Atlantic, there was a huge swell and it was an uncomfortable crossing because of that. Coming back was much less bumpy, as we’d been told. I advise to take seasick pills two hours before sailing even when the weather looks as perfect as it was for us. The sea was like glass around Leverburgh and everyone else seemingly had decided against medication. I’ll say no more. Anyway our 5 hours on Hirta went like a flash. It’s a magical place. All too soon it was time to return to the boat on a tender, where we got the most delicious gingerbread and tea/coffee before sailing around the rest of the Archipelago. I cried the same as I cried when I glimpsed Everest from the air once. I’d love to return but am conscious of how lucky we were to be able to go there. Some folks have between 3 and 7 attempts to achieve that. I’d recommend Sea Harris as they kept us fully informed by text and email prior to and during the 2 day window and are very experienced, competent and caring. It was an experience I’ll never forget. St Kilda was always in my consciousness and now it’s in my heart. Thank you to all at Sea Harris. It was a real adventure but I felt we were in safe hands.
