Lovely scenery and views.

A lovely place to walk (though steep at the start!) and leads to some beautiful routes over the hills. Gives a good view over Barmouth and of the bridge across the estuary.

Slogged up via the steps by the harbour cottages on a blazing hot day. Fitness definitely required for this route. Also in full sun for most of the way. Amazing vistas along the Panorama walk and a lovely view over Barmouth from Dinas Oleu itself. Worth every step of the way. The cold pint of lager outside the Tal y... More

Last time I was here was 20 years ago. Long over due. Lovely to take husband & children up to where I used to spend holidays as a child. I was surprised to read it was the first acquisition of the National Trust. Fab walk, great views.

Its a steep climb up to the top of Dinas Oleu but definitely worth it, even on a misty July morning as when we walked up, the views are amazing. Its certainly not for those with any walking disability or buggies. You do need to be prepared for a constant steep climb.

As members of the National Trust we had found information about this before arriving in Barmouth. The instructions we had got were very simple to follow and allowed us a great view over the whole of barmouth. A few nervy moments against the edge as we climbed up but nothing that my 9 year old couldn't cope with. The armchair... More

If you visit Barmouth and are ever tempted to visit Dinas Oleu, give in to that temptation. The hard slog up the numerous paths that run over the hill is well worth it as the summit gives you some fabulous views over the bay and to the surrounding mountains. I went to Barmouth not expecting to walk so arrived in... More

If you've ever considered scaling Dinas Oleu for the view of Barmouth, the bridge and Mawddach estuary, do so - but only if you are fit and able. Dinas Oleu is reached by scaling the streets and then tracks that run up the mountainside at the back of Barmouth. Once at the top you'll have a view of the whole... More
