The whole experience was great. All the equipment needed to allow for a comfortable experience was provided. The wetsuits were great in ensuring we stayed splash free and dry throughout the whole event. The cagoules were also a pleasant addition. Even in good weather it is so much more enjoyable if you can keep dry when kayaking.
The pre-instruction talk was as informative as was needed for the level of experience within our group. We were instructed well on the fitting of our buoyancy aids and each was checked by George our instructor.
We received some pre-launch instruction on paddling techniques which were expanded on practically once in the water.
The trip was really good around Fishguard harbour and George was always close by had we needed any assistance. George was also very informative and knowledgeable about the history of the harbour and local area, as well as about the geology, bird and marine life. We saw a seal, herons and oyster catchers amongst others. The trip into the cave was good and there was a chance to land our kayaks and go into one of the caves on foot.
All in this was a great trip and we were well looked after by George and always felt safe. Our daughter was a first time kayaker and enjoyed every minute. We'll be going back again. I only wish we lived nearer!

We had a lovely time paddling up the coast with an informative and fun guide. Learning about the coast in all respects from geology to history was done in a fun way. The icing was the seals and the seal pups. We saw numerous different groups all different and all fascinating, so absorbing that you didn't notice home far you'd paddled. A great trip that I'd recommend to all.

Historical events & characters Barty the Pirate, Jemima who fort off the French with a pitchfork. We had sun rain cloud & wind…..luckily finishing in the ☀️……thank you an enjoyable trip

Great fun kayaking out around the Pembrokeshire coast. Amazing too see new born seal pups in the secluded bays. George got us complete beginners up to speed and confident in no time at all.

We had such a great experience kayaking with Kayak King! We felt in very safe hands with our instructor who was very knowledgeable about Fishguard and it's coast (he had lots of interesting pirate facts!)
The highlight has to be a very curious young seal who followed us around the whole trip - great fun to watch :)

I had been kayaking a couple of times on lakes before but this was my first time in the sea and I was a bit apprehensive for the waves but it was so still, it meant we could see all the different seaweed under the water. We saw lots of different birds, 4 baby seals and 6 adults.
I was a bit nervous going on my own as a solo female but there was only another solo female and a female instructor so made it really nice to have only the three of us.
Amy (the instructor) was amazing. Great tuition/briefing and then lots of facts about local history, fauna and flora and even geology. Wasn’t expecting such an in-depth tour.
We were given the option of wetsuits, jackets, all kinds of layers but we didn’t need it because it was so warm. Definitely read the email they send you - they give a list of items to bring as well as timing details which are crucial.
Was a calm, warm day in September which was absolutely ideal. Really couldn’t have asked for a better morning!

We had a really beautiful afternoon kayaking in the sea off Fishguard harbour. We saw seals and their pups; amazing landscapes and we were very lucky with the September sun. Amy, our guide made it feel safe to explore the coastline from the sea with her there by our side.
Such a wonderful, memorable afternoon. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you.

Took a couple of kayaks out with my wife & our adult kids for a paddle up to Needle Rock. Thanks to George, our instructor we had a real blast! We tracked along the coves visiting some grey seals. George provided brief stops for anecdotes of the coastal features & histories too. We were further blessed with the weather! ….Great value all round! Many Thanks George😎

Lovely little tour with every piece of equipment you could ask for. Not only the usual buoyancy aid and wet suit but also the important little details like wet water shoes (aka Crocs) as well as even bands to hold your glasses in the sea wind. The tour itself was very nice and informative as well as being easy to keep up with pace. We even got to try eating some seaweed! (Of course optional).
The additional photograph service was very nice to have and a memory we will definitely keep forever. Thank you to the entire team for being super helpful and friendly.

Is the sea rough? We'll be there in mid August and my husband is worried the sea will be too rough for a kayak session.

We run our tours in a very sheltered location. For this reason we only have to cancel a couple of our tours a year.

My husband is 80years old and would need help getting in and out of the kayak. Is that viable?

Hi, We have had people of a similar age before and we are always happy to help in any way required. We do need participants to have a certain level of fitness that would allow them to be on the sea for approximately two hours. For this I would suggest having a chat with your doctor to get advice before booking. :-)

Can non-swimmers take this trip

We require everyone that joins us on a tour to be water confident. We supply Buoyancy aids to keep you afloat in case you end up in the water. As long as participants are confident enough not to panic in that rare situation (we can assist you in getting back on) then you are welcome to join us.

hi,
Thank you for you question. We often recommend a local (2 minute drive from us) dog sitting service. We have had glowing reviews about them from many of our customers. They'll look after your dogs while you are with us. Last time I checked it was around £15.
You can contact them on: 07971 41 41 01
I hope that was of some help to you. I look forward to meeting you on the water for some cave exploring and marine life viewing.
Let me know if you have any more questions,
Ant @Kayak-King
