Fantastic experience- guide very knowledgable about the local area both in history and rock formations ! Because of him I was able to identify on a walk today the black backed Gull !!!!
The guide went out of his way to encourage us on the trip to feel confident. Including entering caves .
We would recommend for everyone ( all ages , including families with children ). If you are in Pembrokeshire book it and give it a go..
Free car parking and free toilets in a beautiful setting by a small harbour and even when windy very sheltered. At the end of the quay there is a cafe serving fresh crab sandwiches caught locally. An ice cream van too for the end of the trip.
Communication from company very good with clear instructions as to what to expect on the day - we will definitely book again when returning to the area - Sue & Terry

Took our 16 year old paddling for a couple of hours. The trip was Well organised, all the equipment was provided and Ant and Jake had lots of good local knowledge of the surrounding area and wildlife. They also provided good, safe oversight for what seemed a mixed group of kayaking capabilities. Will definitely go back!

An amazing kayaking trip for all levels and ages, we had in our group families with young kids who got their own tiny paddles! On the day we did it the weather was very foggy but Ant and Jake kept the spirits high and explained a lot about the local ecology and history.
We felt extremely safe in their hands, as a very accident prone person I got stuck on a rock and also fell into the sea when attempting a trick. Both times Ant was calm and saved me, though not before snapping some photos!
All in all, an excellent couple of hours spent, thank you!

We had such a fantastic morning paddling with Steve and Ant! They were both super friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area, giving some interesting facts and stories as we paddled. It was a great way to see the more hidden, unspoilt parts of the coastline and we even saw a seal pup! They gave you everything you needed and we both felt very safe in their hands. Would definitely recommend this experience and would do this again if we came back!

We can really recommend Kayak-King. Steve and Rob leading us were great guys, with Steve giving an interesting and informed commentary on what we saw as we paddled out of Fishguard harbour and along the cost to needle rock. We were lucky enough to see a couple of seal pups on the normally inaccessible small beaches waiting for the return of their mothers. As a wary kayaker with no previous experience I felt quite safe. The equipment was excellent - good quality sleeveless wet suits (to aid mobility), windproof jackets and buoyancy aids as well as more safety equipment carried by Rob. I was in a tandem kayak with my wife, and it was heavier than expected when we had to haul it up the slipway due to the low tide, but Rob took over and hauled it, and his own kayak, at the same time.

The weather and tide was perfect for exploring the nooks and crannies of the local coast. Lucky me. However, the trip was very professionally run by our guides Ant and Jake, who made sure all safety angles were covered and their knowledge of the local history, flora and fauna considerably enhanced the experience. Very friendly and affable too. All good.

We had an absolutely brilliant time with Kayak-King! As a family of four with no kayaking experience at all, we were shown the basics of how to paddle a kayak, then taken out into the bay to put it into practice. We spent 2.5hours exploring the coastline, going into caves and learning how to ‘rock-hop’. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable about the coast and the history of Fishguard. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

We are a group of people who love a good shenanigan and Ant and Jake gave us the right amount of fun without letting us get out of hand. On a serious note we had a 13yo and 11yo and it was a perfect trip for adults and kids. We explored the coast, saw wildlife (but the seals weren't out that day), we even held a jellyfish! The equipment was all looked after and the photos they took were well worth the extra cash. Thanks boys it was boss and when we return we'll definitely book another adventure with you.

Thanks so much guys for taking us out, we had an awesome few hours with you! We even got to see some seals and a seal pup as well as learn a little about the local history. Ant and Jake were friendly, knowledgable and a lot of fun. Our group of 8 absolutely loved the experience and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to see some of the amazing coastline we have here in West Wales.

Fantastic morning! We were a group of 4 beginners and Steve and Ant had us Kayaking with ease in no time at all. Steve has great knowledge of the local area, wildlife and all things coastal. Seeing the seals and pups was the cherry!!

Is the sea rough? We'll be there in mid August and my husband is worried the sea will be too rough for a kayak session.

We run our tours in a very sheltered location. For this reason we only have to cancel a couple of our tours a year.

My husband is 80years old and would need help getting in and out of the kayak. Is that viable?
Written 27 July 2019
Hi, We have had people of a similar age before and we are always happy to help in any way required. We do need participants to have a certain level of fitness that would allow them to be on the sea for approximately two hours. For this I would suggest having a chat with your doctor to get advice before booking. :-)

We require everyone that joins us on a tour to be water confident. We supply Buoyancy aids to keep you afloat in case you end up in the water. As long as participants are confident enough not to panic in that rare situation (we can assist you in getting back on) then you are welcome to join us.

hi,
are there any facilities to leave our dogs whilst we are kayaking? we are staying in a yurt and so wouldnt be able to leave them there. many thanks
Written 11 August 2015
hi,
Thank you for you question. We often recommend a local (2 minute drive from us) dog sitting service. We have had glowing reviews about them from many of our customers. They'll look after your dogs while you are with us. Last time I checked it was around £15.
You can contact them on: 07971 41 41 01
I hope that was of some help to you. I look forward to meeting you on the water for some cave exploring and marine life viewing.
Let me know if you have any more questions,
Ant @Kayak-King

Hi, is it suitable for wheelchair user teenager accompanied by parents?
